I'm wanting to introduce a friend of mine to Buffy and I'm not sure where to start...

I know Welcome to Hellmouth and all that, but I really want to get her hooked and I'm sure if season 1 would do it...

So any good suggestions on what season/episode to start with (or couple of episodes) would be much appreciated. Thanks!

Just do what I do. You invite your friend over and tell them to wait for you in the next room. They go in there and a television, with a DVD player and Buffy DVDs are waiting for them and nothing else. You lock the door, and tell them you'll let them out once they finish at least three seasons. Naturally, if they are stubborn, you'll have to slide some food under the door but warn them sternly they are going nowhere until those DVDs are finished. They'll soon be huge fans of the show. They may not be friends with you anymore though....

My slim set DVD came with an insert that reads, "Warning. May destroy friendships."
Pick the one that got you hooked.
Or show her the end of a season,if they enjoy it,start
at the begining of that season.
Well it worked for me,back in the good old days of season one.
But you cant make someone like buffy...........
Or can you,ha ha haaaaaaa cackle:: vampire: popcorn:

How about you pick your favourite episode from each season and make them watch all of those. They may see an episode they like they want to watch the next one which follows but i suppose thats good and then they will be hooked mhahahahaha! 😛

Best Buffy episode to "hook" newbies?

If you don't wanna plow through all the old posts, "School Hard" seems to be the ep that gets mentioned most often - and that's a choice I won't disagree with myself. 😉

No, I'm not mad that you posted the links. I'm happy about that. I've just been too lazy to go look for them. Shocking isn't it? 😉 It's been on my mind though. But why do I always end up giving you (deserved) karma just to a few minutes later find another post you should have rep for? Can someone please give the man some karma for being helpful? At least three thank you very much. 😀

you lazy bum! ^^
honestly start them out with season 3. i always watched Buffy and then I went on a huge eliza dushku kick and i went out and bought season 3 of buffy. in the first couple eps it shows buffy in a completely different place with flashbacks of her killing angel and it was at that point that I was like, wait I have no idea what the heck is going on. Then when you get to the second ep in season 3 you see the depth of the charecter relationships when they start to fight. After that I was like alright gotta go get seasons 1 and 2.

If they react that way let them borrow season 1. It introduces the charecters and then when you finally get to the last ep in season 1 where buffy says but giles i'm only 16 i don't wanna die...BAM!!! hooked, and season 2 then sets the hook and season 3 starts to reel them in. season 4 lets you fight a little bit and then season 5 you finally land them and season 6 and 7 you are putting them up on the mantel as a buffy freak!

(sorry for the fishing analogy)
