I was just wondering if someone could inform me of all the canon books/comics etc, as the only one I know is Fray as I would be interesting in purchasing these items.

The line of what is or isn't canon is starting to get fuzzy.

Everything on the screen is canon, but there are sometimes questions of interpretation.

Fray is generally considered canon every place I read. Joss made a statement at a comic convention suggesting he felt obligated to do something in the future making Fray line up better with Chosen, so that seems support the idea Joss intention is to have Fray as Canon.

After that it gets Fuzzy. You might say if the name of Joss appears on the cover as having input it becomes canon.

The TPB Tales of the Slayers would seem to apply here. It's a comic anthology. Joss wrote I think three stories, and the way his name appears on the cover he appears to have been in charge. The other writers were BTVS/ATS writers.

The book anthology Tales of the Slayer would not apply. The stories were by independent writers, and Joss had no input. He says he doesn't even read the books.

Tales of the Vampires I don't know to well, but my impression is it's more like Tales of the Slayers, than Tales of the Slayer.

Then it starts to get really fuzzy.

There's this TPB by Brett Matthews called Long Night's Journey. The reviews for it are not favourable. Joss is listed on the cover as a co-writer. I've never read it, but I think I read somewhere Matthews makes the claim the gypsy curse is not meant for Angel. Do you want to accept that as canon? I don't know.

There's a new comic series on Angel coming out from IDW. The rumour is Joss has some kind of input. The writer won't make any crystal clear comments on what exactly that input is, but he seems to say, he submits story ideas to Fox. He believes Fox then submits them to Joss, and Joss says whether or not those stories are OK. Is that canon? My opinion is no, but others seem to think it is.

I would think that new comic series would be canon. I think anything with the Joss seal of approval would be considered canon...

I agree about all the books not being canon, but in terms of the comics and such endorsed and reviewed by Joss, I'm not sure I can it's not canon.
