Can't resize banner

I'm having a really frustrating time with my gorram banner!
I made it on Paint.Net (software like photoshop)
then I uploaded it to Photobucket.com and put it on here.
I made it 500px x 150px yet it is way smaller than that.
Then I realised you can edit the size of the uploaded pic on Photobucket. So I resized it there to 500px x 150px, saved it, and put it on here. Yet it remains the same!
How do I make it truly 500 x 150 as it just keeps showing it smaller. What am I doing wrong!?!
My head hurts 🙁

Use tinypic.com that's what I use. It's a photo hosting site

Hmm, I'm not sure why it's resizing the banner like that. Maybe it's photobucket. You could try uploading your banner somewhere like IMGUR and see if it comes out the right size? Also for the future and for any others without photoshop, Sumo Paint is pretty awesome. It seems I can't link you yet but they're easily found through google!

I've used photobucket for over 5 years and have never had a problem like that so I'm assuming it's how you're uploading it. Would you like to send me the file and I can try to upload it to my photobucket and then send you the link? I will be online most of the day so I can guarantee you that it will be a quick turnaround time 🙂
