Here is a bit of craziness from the weird world of academia:

http://thefire.org/article/13595.html

A professor has been censored twice, reported to the "threat assessment team," and threatened with criminal charges because of satirical postings on his office door. Campus police at the University of Wisconsin"“Stout (UWS) censored theater professor James Miller's poster depicting a quotation from actor Nathan Fillion's character in the television series Firefly, and the police chief threatened Miller with criminal charges for disorderly conduct.

i reckon the next poster should be this one:

Wow... Well, I'm kinda torn on this, to be honest. In an academic world, I can see why certain people would find the quote a little harsh. However, unless a student or another teacher felt personally threatened by the professor, I don't see how the quote alone would be seen as a threat especially since it's just a quote from a TV character/show.

I'm not surprised at his being reported, I seem to remember that an episode of Buffy was postponed because of Jonathon taking a high powered rifle to school to kill himself.
I think the professor should have used a bit of commonsense.
Did he state where the quote was from? As the quote by itself, without any qualification of where it comes from (something no student should do in a paper) is dumb, so yes, serves him right. He seems to be supporting violence. Had the quote been used in context, fair enough.
It indicates to me that the professor tends to open his mouth before his brain gets into gear.
