Captain John Hart?

I don't really watch it, but Captain John Hart is a character on Torchwood, which is a spinoff of Dr. Who. From what I understand, he's a bad guy, a former Time Agent, and a past love interest of Captain Jack Harkness (yes, he's bisexual. Yum yum.) I'm not sure when the show is on, but I do know that it's on the BBC, and that series/season 1 is on DVD now and series 2 (the one James is in) is coming out in September.

Nope, season 2 is out on DVD now...I bought it about 2 weeks ago.

*points to sig and AV* Allow me to introduce you to Captain John Hart. James appears as Captain John in the first and last episodes of the second season of the Doctor Who spin off Torchwood. He's an old...aquaintence of the lead character, Captian Jack Harkness. Apparently, they got stuck in a time loop for two weeks, but for them it seemed like 5 or 7 years. they thought they were married, and apparently, the feelings are still there. Along with some other unfinished business, considering they beat each otehr to a bloody pulp in the first 5 minutes.

James is great as Captain John, he's supposed to be a bad guy, but you can't help but love him...sorta like Spike, lol.

Uh-oh! Am I in for another Marsters addiction?? ;^)
Captain John fast became my fave Torchwood character...even though James pretty much played him as Spike...perhaps that's why 🙂

I was annoyed that they had basically type cast him, I got the feeling they nod nod wink winked him into doing it exactly like old style spike

James actually wrote to Russell T. Davies to ask if he could be in Doctor Who originally and was told no - you can't, but you can appear in Torchwood if you like.

And I agree, James basically played a futuristic, non vamp but very bi-sexual version of Spike - including the accent! Wonderful stuff

I've only watched the two episodes that James was in, but it was worth it, his character is great. And it is quite similar to Spike, I think the first episode he's in is better humour wise, especially some of his lines towards the end of the episode. :lmao:

Wow! I just watched that link and... wow!

Wild-west style bar brawls, hot guys, kissing, and did I mention the fun bar brawl with the laughing and the "come and get me" hand gestures and stuff? That was one fun fight! What an entrance! I wanna see the rest of the show now. That whole scene was really exciting. It's a great intro for a character, cuz it gets you all intrigued. You wanna see what happens next. Do they destroy the bar? Do they kill each other? It also makes you want to know what happened in the past to make them want to kiss each other as well as brawl with one another. Plus, I really like the upbeat "Who-hoo!" music in the background. It makes the whole scene seem that much more fun.

I think TV should always be this entertaining.

EDIT:
Okay, I just saw his actual intro. Wow. What a fun character. "Help me Obi-Won-Kinobe!" "You - you - you..." "Did I mention I'm armed?" Bahahaha. He had me in stitches. He is kind of like Spike, I guess, but I don't care! Watching these scenes makes me wanna smile and laugh out loud and stuff. Hehehehe. I've gotta watch this show!

This just reminds me of how good JM is. Why doesn't he have his own show, again? I could watch him all day!

Karma for reminding me how much I love JM in this (first thing I saw him in - what a great introduction!) Do check out the rest of the show, although be warned if you start from the beginning - series 2 is MUCH better than series 1 (IMHO)
