What do you listen to in the car?

I am still trying to figure out which app is the best one for the car. The radio stations are fine, but sometimes I want something I have picked. I did a youtube premium/music trial and its terrible! I a not going to pay for that one.

What do you use in the fancy new cars that dont have cd players? Everyone I know IRL still has cds players lol or even cassette players, so I cant ask them!

The radio that comes with the car, tuned to Radio 1. 😀 The phone is connected to the car and, very occasionally, I've used it for audio books, but by and large I just listen to the radio, especially on the short journeys that are mostly what I do.

My car does have a cd player, and I think there's a cd or two somewhere in the car, but mostly it's just the radio.

I normally listen to the radio in the car...used to be BBC Radio 2 but then the DJs I liked either left or died so these days it's a mix of Greatest Hits or Planet Rock. They both have decent playlists and (mostly) non-annoying DJs but I do get a bit peeved at all the commercial breaks, and, for a "national" station, Greatest Hits has an annoying number of dead zones as you move between its regional transmission areas.

I plug in a USB - load it up with all the songs I want to hear. Sometimes I do listen to the radio.
Also lucky I still have a CD player in the car, but it's rarely used.

I almost always have my phone plugged in so I can listen to Spotify. I listen to a little of everything, so I have probably 100 different playlists made on there. LOL

This is a brilliant idea! No fear of a fine for fussing with the phone either. I am going to try this (or at least spend the next week trying to figure out how to do it haha) Perfect solution, thankyou 😀

I was thinking about Spotify, I havent used it before but was looking at the site. I will look more into this one too, thanks 🙂

I don't have a car right now, but when I did and was stuck in traffic, I listened to the classical music station to keep myself calm.

You're welcome, friend!
Believe me, if an idiot like myself can work this out, you'll be just fine. 😂

What's your set-up like? If you have a PC/laptop that has a disc drive, it's going to be so easy. You'll just load your CD and put the songs onto your computer as an MP3. From there, plug in your USB and transfer the files on there. The most difficult part will be choosing what songs to put on it!

Or, if you skip physical media and purchase music as MP3s, it's the same thing.

I gotta buy some new cds!
Haven't listened to the actual radio in years. 9 times out of 10 I'm listening to my own music. The 10th time we have a grandfathered SiriusXM package that is $7 for about 90 stations.

I usually go with Iheartradio stations when not listening to stuff from my phone

My old car was a basic model & still had a CD player, but that car went to the great parking lot in the sky last year.
The one I've got now is full of computers, multiple menu's for everything. Still haven't worked out what most of them do.
Think there's a menu for selecting radio stations in there somewhere, but I've not found it yet.
Seems like the Car's got more computing power than where I used to work, and we ran a whole damn Airline on those mainframes!!! 😀

Must admit, when I'm driving alone I normally don't bother with music & just make up stories in my head to keep myself amused. 😎

The way my mind wanders I find it is best to concentrate on the road.

I am still learning with my car too, fancy screens and the lot.
My current car only has a radio, my last car had a CD as well. The only discs I played in that car was a the War of the Worlds twin disc, the Evanescence Fallen or a copy of the best of by Guns and Roses.

My car is too old to have a radio with a USB input but it does have an CD player so I can listen to either. I have a mountain of CD's not counting the ones I've burned myself so there is no fear of running out of something to listen to.

Spotify is excellent! So much better than youtube music. Youtube gave me Rick Astley at least 8 times on a 40km drive. Ridiculous! Spotify heard my call for Michael Jackson and did not deviate, and when it did it was No Scrubs by TLC which was a good choice and one I wish I had listened to the words of more closely before the relationships of my youth. I am still on the free trial for now, but this may just be an app that I cant live without. I set it up on the home tv too and the quality is miles above youtube as well. So I am stoked with this, thanks 😀
