Charisma Carpenter, who played Cordelia on The WB's Angel, told TV Guide Online that she's actively pursuing the lead role in a proposed Wonder Woman movie. "I am actively putting it out there that I want to do Lynda Carter," Carpenter told the site. "It's my mission to be Wonder Woman!"

, added, "My agent hasn't seen a script, but some studio needs to do it. She's beautiful, she fights, and I like the concept of an empowerment role. I've always been so passive on Angel, where they usually wouldn't let Cordelia do martial-arts stunts. Charisma wants to kick ass and bust heads!"

A Wonder Woman movie, based on the DC Comics series, has been in development for some time, with various actresses rumored to be in line for the part.

Carpenter added that she's casting about for family-friendly jobs. "I can tell you what my goals are," she said. "I have a son now, so I want the half-hour sitcom lifestyle, where you can have a family and work. And then, during summer hiatus, I'd like to do a Kill Bill or Wonder Woman or some movie like that."
 
Uhm, she wants family-friendly jobs, and then says she'd like to be in a Kill Bill-esque movie. Maybe it's just me, but does anyone else wonder whether Charisma isn't another case of closet-blonde?
 
LOL, Ally-she said family friendly and then take a break and do a Kill Billl type movie.

I personally think Charisma would be GREAT as Wonder Woman! Or even lois Lane in the Superman Movie, but I think Wonder Woman is more what SHE wants.
 
Well in my opinion Charisma should keep away from the super hero movies... can anyone say Halle Berry, Catwoman? Oh my... dire.... 🙁

But as for a Kill Bill esque if her hair were to be long again and all pretty, I think she could do the gritty stuff, the stuff that packs a punch and leaves the audience wanting more, her first major project since leaving Angel should not be Wonder Woman, it would be a mistake on her part. For some reason Wonder Woman as a movie just seems like a coffin waiting to be nailed shut... it was alright as a TV show in the 80's but as a movie of today, the big studios tend to rely on the special effects and the action... Shove her in a psychological thriller... shove her in the US Version of 'Dark Water'... give her something meaningful but don't give her a 'Valentine'!!!!
 
She has got to get the role of Lois Lane or Wonder Woman, it would do her the world of good, she will be starring in loads of films if she did either one!
 
I think when she said "family-friendly" she meant she could work without being deprived from her family. In other words shes not spending a load of time "on the set" and can see her family, not a "U" film (Using UK certificate there, dunno what the USA one is)

I think Charisma would be great as Wonder Woman. Her hair has to be longer but I can really imagine her in that role. And if she pulls it off really well (which she will of course) it would make her a major star! Think Jennifer Gardner after Daredevil.
 
I read that one of the actresses rumoured to be doing it was Alyssa Milano from Charmed. I think she would be good, cos she does all the kick-ass stuff on Charmed but I would love to see Charisma do it! She went for the part of Buffy so we might be able to say if she would have made a good one!
 
I dont see Alyssa doing it, she said she didnt like doing all of the martial arts and her hair is to short(sometimes she looks like a boy) and I dont want Wonder-Woman to have short hair or a wig on. Charisma would be good for the role I guess, it all depends on how they are making the movie, I heard they were going for a darker tone. But the actress I think would be perfect for the role is Lucy Lawless. The reason why The new Catwoman movie with Halle Berrry looks and sounds so bad is because they made a new charecter who isnt even that intresting whereas Selena Kyle is much more intresting since it would be a movie where she is a criminal, a bad guy but yet still a good guy
