Now normally I avoid reality shows as a matter of course. However, I will try to see at least one ep of the new Castaway (starting Friday 9th March on BBC 1) on account of it featuring one of our very own BB-ers...see if you recognise anyone who has just announced they won't be around the boards for a few months (clue: it's not Old Master III) from this list...

Lady-charmer Alasdair is keen to dispel the myth that all of Britain's youths are apathetic and surly.

Erica
Mouthy arachnophobe, Erica, earned her crust as a lap dancer, but says she's a tomboy at heart.

Clare
Clare is passionate about politics and injustice and lives in a house her daddy built.

Yup...if you look hard enough you should see Bored of the Dead in there (if what he told me a month or so ago is correct...and I've no reason to suppose it isn't 🙂)

Yeah Lyri was going to announce it but Al said that she would be announcing it last week! Well that's what he IM'd me anyway!!!

It's going to be weird to see him in the flesh, and not have an avatar as a head! Does anyone else get what I'm on about?!?! lol
 
Yeah. Its funny seeing what people really look like. Its never what you expect. And thats after seeing his myspace photo 😛

actually, i was told not to post anything until after the first ep airs on Friday. originally, they went out to New Zealand on February 25th, and i was supposed to do it then, but he got word to keep it under wraps as much as possible until the first ep. i was gonna do it on Friday, but i guess Mr. P beat me to it! 😀

so come on all you BB'ers, we have to show Al as much support as possible!!

I'm pretty sure he is Al on account of that being his real name 🙂 but some of the quotes on his biog page convinced me...

that's ok, Mr. P. the most important thing is that everyone knows our Al is out there and deserves our support.
i can just imagine him getting into some argument with someone and that strong opinion of him coming out. it'll be fun seeing what he's really like when he gets passionate about something instead of reading the words he really wants to say!! lol

i really doubt Alister would do if even if they tried to make them. we all know what he's like once he makes his mind up about something! lol

I hope he makes a fool of himself (dead cert, right?) I'll have months of material against him when he gets back (in about a week when gets booted out first).

Personally, Mr Pointy, I didn't see Alister from that write-up. Maybe if the words Pompous jackass were in there somewhere..


I kid, of course. I'm entirely confident that he won't ramble on about Buffy and tarnish the reputation of Buffy fans everywhere.

I'll probably even watch it too. I should have offered him money to proclaim once a day that the mighty Stalin is his hero. Amongst you lot that should go without saying. Its such a struggle each day waking up knowing that all who have met you worship the ground you walk on...In the faint hope that it opens up and swallows.

So, anyone think he can win it? And how does the show work, do the public vote?
 
Its not an eviction thing. The only way they leave is if they get thrown out for bad behaviour
 
HA! That's definitely him! He told me about it but I forgot when it starts. I'm gonna watch it as soon as it does. Does it even air in the US?

Edit: I just saw the video and he has an accent. I never would have thought he had an accent. I guess I'm weird like that. LOL I'm really happy for him. I know he's gonna do really well.
