Castle has a lot going on. He's trying to finish his new novel Heat Wave and trying to figure out how to fix things with Beckett. They find themselves working together to solve the murder of a man found tangled in tree limbs.

Very nice episode. They're moving the emotional story forward. Though I think Castle is just a bit reckless for a guy with a family.

Stana Katic looked super-hot in that dress.

The joke about Hollywood making a movie out of the "Asteroid" video game was pretty funny. Until they go ahead and actually do just that, of course.

Cool to once again see Stephen Cannell (creator of "The Rockford Files", "The A-Team", "21 Jump Street", "The Commish" and "The Greatest American Hero") and Michael Connelly (author of the Harry Bosch novels) as Castle's poker buddies.

Jossverse alumni watch: Laurel Holloman (Justine from "Angel") as the dead guy's widow.

A quality episode.
I think it's the first episode too where there is a murder case and the first scene doesn't show the body. It's a nice change.
And damn i didn't realise that that was Justine, we'll spotted mate.
 
The season premiere did well in the ratings:

10 p.m.

CBS: "CSI: Miami" season premiere (13.8 million, 8.7/14)
ABC: "Castle" season premiere (9.4 million, 6.2/10)
NBC: "The Jay Leno Show" (5.7 million, 3.8/6)

(Heh... this Leno-palooza is such a huge mistake for NBC.)
