Both Nathan and David and their respective female leads will be might be leaving their respective shows when their contracts end this season.

(Pertinent section here)

While Vampire Diaries has already been renewed for next season, there are other veteran series whose renewal is entangled

with talent negotiations as their stars’ contracts expire at the end of this season. That includes ABC drama Castle and its leading duo Nathan Fillion and Stana Katic; Fox drama Bones and its stars, David Boreanaz and Emily Deschanel; and fellow CBS crime procedural Criminal Minds, which has the vast majority of its primary cast — Thomas Gibson, Joe Mantegna, Shemar Moore, Kirsten Vangsness and A.J. Cook — in need of new deals after this season. Additionally, CSI leading man Ted Danson’s contract is up this season as were the deals of The Middle cast.

"Bones" is definitely ending right? I feel like there's been a lot of talk and hints at that one Twitter. Including DB saying stuff like "Once upon a time there was a show called Bones". But 10 years is a pretty good run...

Haven't heard about "Castle" before. That's a bummer cause I still enjoy that show.

Nathan Fillion has re-upped his contract for Castle. But Stana Katic hasn't yet. My guess is they'll get her to sign and do one more season. It would be a shame if they don't... there are only two more episodes this season and a show that's run as long as Castle has should get a proper series finale.

I think Bones is done, though. Boreanaz has had one foot out the door for a couple of years now. Hopefully they planned for that and wrote a decent wrap-up episode for this season.

Yea I think it's time for Bones to end. The last few seasons aren't as good. Mine as well end now before it gets worse. I don't watch Castle but yea shows deserve a good finale.

Can't say I'll mourn either of their passing as neither show was to my tastes. I found them just too bland I'm afraid.

Think I've only seen one episode of each and based on those I tend to agree. They just seem just too much like a lot of other shows and TV and just don't seem to add that much new.

I hope Bones is ending, it seems like they've wrapped up that story a couple times already then renewed it last minute.

Stopped watching Bones some time after the stupid 'Zach aiding a cannibal serial killer...oh wait he didn't really' plotline. It never improved after that.

I do enjoy Castle though, but it's also way past its best. I watch it mainly for Nathan Fillion.

Finally Boreanaz hopefully can do something where he can display all of his acting talents. I just never "got" that show, David was great but the rest of the cast bored me usually. So I call this good news, I look forward to David and Nathan in more interesting projects in the very near future, Maybe David as The punisher..... I know, Im a dreamer 😛

I remember when Castle first aired and it was discussed on these boards. I enjoyed it but had doubt if it would even get a second season. So no matter what I'm glad I was way wrong. I've enjoyed it a lot though the seasons. As others have said, hopefully it'll get a chance to give it a proper ending.

As for Bones I'm still watching but it's definitely time for it to end.

Castle could do with another year to explain his disappearance a little better (being in a war in Thailand was explained, but not how he forgot everything). But if it is really over, they had a great run and it was one of my favourite series.

Bones should never have lasted this long. Emily Deschanel's voice is annoying and the plot lines are getting rehashed. Emily Deschanel held the position Anya did in Buffy - the person who did not understand her position in the social order. Good for a comic sidekick, not so good for the lead character.

As far as I am concerned, the hot tickets on network shows are CSI Cyber, Scorpion and The Blacklist.

Bones has been renewed for a 11th season, just seen the tweet. Sorry if someone already mentioned it.
I would be surprised if Boreanaz continues to act after the show ends.

I'm surprised that they will get another season.
Could've sworn that I read some announcement that season 10 was going to be the final season.
But apparently not...

Their contracts had expired and they both were wanting a raise, as they were only making 6 million a year. Which is why they did not expect to get renewed for another season. However the showrunner stepped down, so it's likely they got their raises.

This actually disappoints me. I'm a bi fan of Bones, but it's gone downhill so I want it to end before they ruin it. Hopefully s11 will be the last and they do a proper final season.

Season 11? Wow, I thought that show started going downhill in season 4. Can't believe they got re-newed yet again. Haven't seen the last season at all though, so maybe it was good. Still, few shows can go for that long and maintain some kind of dignity.

i didn't think it went downhill til s8. but yea now that Booth and Bones are married it's like theres really no where to go so end.

Actually, if they were to take it back more to the origins of the show I think it could be great because now there's nowhere to go with their relationship (cause they won't break them up I imagine, and shouldn't!) which is what could make me watch the show again. I thought it went downhill that early because I loved it as a crime-drama, not a relationship-drama, and around season 4 it - to me - became mostly about all of their personal stuff (not just Booth and Bones, but mainly them) and that was just not what I was interested in.

So if they could stop having their personal shit + having people have personal vendetta's against them. If their personal stuff just got to be background noise to the crimes they were solving, then I'd happily tune right back in 😀 (And if I thought there was any chance of this I'd be excited about season 11, but that'd be too good to be true sadly)

I think the relationship-drama is the only parts that interested me.. not sure when I stopped watching but it was early on. But the criminal aspect just made it feel like those countless law & orders or CSIs that I cant stand. Bones in general wasn't my cup of tea, but the relationships and dynamic of the group was it's strength. I stopped watching around cornholio guy, I think, or at least thats the last thing I really remember.
