Cats are just... evil!

Oh man, me and my partner had both a cat and the dog a couple of years ago. We were watching the cat for about half a year for my mother-in-law while she sold her house and was moving etc. We were living in a dump, a tiny bedsit with the two of us and the two animals. It was interesting times. The cat (Cleo) used to smack his tail and face anytime he dared to attempt to walk past her. Poor dog. She wasn't fazed at all though, she owned the joint. See here! He was so timid around her, but she HATED him, haha.
 
It's a well known fact that cats were worshiped as gods in ancient Egypt. It's also quite obvious to anyone who has ever associated with a cat that they have never gotten over it.

Dogs have been conditioned for generations to instinctively avoid confrontations with other animals in their homes. This goes for cats, other dogs, and just about any animal that they might encounter there. No one has ever succeeded in conditioning cats in such a manner. However, dogs will protect their homes and families, something that, again, cats will rarely do. Put the dog and cat outdoors, and all bets are off. If you have any doubt of that fact, just consider, how many cats have ever chased dogs up trees?

The dog is, was, and always be, man's best friend. The cat is a witch's familiar.

Oh, and, in case anyone might still wonder, I am a dog person.
 
While I had my two Basset Hounds, I had two cats, one female, the other male. I have to be fair - they loved the dogs. The female was older and she was protective - I swear that one day the dogs were fighting and she put her paw between them as if she was saying "Stop it already boys!"
 
There is just a difference in attitude.

You have a dog and he thinks, "You feed me, you give me a house to live in, you must be a god."

You have a cat and he thinks, "You feed me, you give me a house to live in, I must be a god."
 
It is true we humans are nothing but subordinate scum to cats. I love that about them though. I'm much more a cat person. My sister and I grew up with cats from the day we were brought home from hospital. My parents have pretty much never not had cats so meeting my partner and living with him and his dog was, like, a total shock to the system. What is this big, smelly slobbering beast covered in thick, molting fur? It was my partner of course. I shoved him out the way and I fell in love with The Dog the second I met him.
 
And hey, in the film Constantine it says about cats being part way into hell, so it must be true.
 
Just wanted to add, my parent's cat IS very evil to be honest. She still scratches and bites me and treats me like a litter mate. She is named Jonesy after this little terror:

haha well I'm totally a cat person. So I can't even comment on this, me and cats get along great. (the cat I took in 2 years ago was a little rescue that was so mean, but now she's super lovable and sweet. Just gotta know how to deal with them).

It must be hard to have your chief investigative tool (your snout/nose) also being your most sensitive area. I've seen it a bunch of times- a dog will wag its tail and go and sniff a cat, and the cat will pause, tense up and then lash out with a paw to the face. The result is a confused, hurt dog who was just trying to be friendly.

It's also worth pointing out that a lot of breeds of dog are bred specifically to be very temperate and non-aggressive when it comes to their own households. So they can cope with a lot of the children-antics (ear grabbing, poking, crying etc).
These breeds are all family-friendly and probably really puzzled/wary as to why a 'family/pack member' who constantly hits them with razor sharp claws for no reason.
You wouldn't get an Alsatian or Doberman putting up with that crap, these cats would quickly find out who is boss.

And if it was a Husky, the cat would be... delicious. Yup, Huskies eat cats.
My brother has two little cats. They might be secretly evil, but I don't care. They're awesome 🙂
 
Oooh, I love cats for their evillness. 😀 Those clips had me laughing out loud. Cats are wonderful. They can be the epitome of indifference, but they are also wonderful companions. If I wasn't allergic I would love to have a cat again. (The one my foster family had looked a lot like yours @Nix )
Though my dog can't live with cats so that's another road block to that plan. She tries to kill any cat she sees.
 
My cat is evil, you are right. He is a hunter by nature. Catches mice, voles, rats, ducklings, birds, rabbits! He is always fighting for the alpha male role in my road and has pretty much got it now.
