Please don't take offense to this, but maybe when you're older you'll understand what makes a good movie. Things like good dialogue, strong characterization, logical plot development...all things that this movie doesn't have.



None of the reviewers I saw even mentioned this as a flaw. I think a solo Catwoman movie could have been great, if they actually respected the source material.

I can't believe you're even comparing this piece of garbage to The Passion of the Christ. That movie got good reviews, anyway.


Let me ask you a question: Should someone who's never read 20,000 Leagues Under the Sea be allowed to make a movie based on that book? Then why are these people making a Catwoman movie when they have never read a comic book in their lives?

This could have been the best movie of all time, and I still wouldn't contribute any money to it. This is not Catwoman. It's a completely different character with the same name. They were so focused on putting a "fresh new spin" on the character, no one even took the time to consider who the character already is. The current Catwoman comic book series is being praised as one of the best comic books out there. If they had considered the source material, it could have been a good movie.

Oh, and could you please leave spaces in between your sentences? It's very hard to understand you.

See this is what I was talking about.Most of the comic book lovers, hated the movie because it had noting to do with batman, gotham city, the character is diff,etc..This is not base don Batman.It's just based on the character.They just made up a similar story of their own, using the character.It's not supposed to be all the same.You should respect that.They made their own story, based on the character.This is why all the comic books lovers got mad at the movie, just because it was different.Just because they made their own story.It just based on the character.Not the whole comic.

But why even call it Catwoman if it's not the same character? The director had no love for the character in the first place, so why is he making a movie about her? The WB thought that the name alone would be enough to draw in viewers. They were wrong. The movie cost $100 million to make, and it only made $17 million opening weekend. I'll be surprised if they even make a profit, and it serves them right.

You know why the Spider-Man movies were a success? Because Sam Raimi loves Spider-Man. He didn't try to make the character into what he wanted it to be. He knew what had made the character last for 40 years, and he showed that in the movie. The Superman movies were a success because Richard Donnor was a huge Superman fan. The X-Men movies were a success because Brian Singer is an X-Men fan. Do you see where I'm going with this?

Pitof showed a complete lack of respect for the character of Catwoman and tried to mold her into what he thought she should be. He ignored everything that had made the character popular for the last 60 years, and ended up making a crappy movie.

And again, can you please use spaces in between sentences? Your posts are hard to read and frankly, it makes you look like you don't know how to use punctuation.

I don't read comics so I cannot comment from a comic readers perspective on this movie.

I tend to take things as I find them, and we, that is the hubby and kids, watched this yesterday and we all enjoyed it. I didn't take it seriously but just enjoyed a light-hearted somewhat tongue in cheek film. I'm not a big enough movie fan or critic to get into some big debate over this, way to serious for me to start anyalyzing every film I watch 'lol'

I enjoyed watching it and I would watch it again.......

It all comes down to individual preferences if you liked it then great. Like you said to me on MSN you thought it was better than DD :shout: yet even though it got slated by some fans, and critics I liked it. The truth is you are never going to please everyone.

I did prefer it to DareDevil but then I'm not a big Affleck fan so that didn't help, and I definitely agree if we were all the same, with the same likes and preferences then life wouldn't be very interesting, would it. 😉

Despite Hollywood's belief that sticking Halle Berry in leather isn't making me want to see this movie. Yes shes purdy and all that but the story itself seems rubbish. The main selling point behind this movie seems to be Halle in a skimpy constume, I mean the computer game has an "oggle cam" where you can just "explore" her body.

What I did find funny, The Sun was disgusted to find out that a man did the stunts for Halle, so they were being turned on by a man. But thats because I hate The Sun.

You have some good points there, the marketing for this movie seems to be all about Halle and her appearance. Now I want to watch the movie to see if I can spot where its the man 😉

Despite the mauling that Halle Berry's Catwoman movie has received from critics in the U.S., with USA Today saying it "belongs in the litter box" and the New York Post describing it as "about as sexy as a hairball", the actress has not only announced her desire to reprise the role of Patience Price in a Catwoman sequel, but she has also backed out of two more planned X-Men movie sequels.

According to Star magazine, Berry's decision was based on a combination of screen time, money, and the dominant story line demands in the upcoming X3.

"If Halle was going to be in the sequels, she wanted the focus of the films to be on her," a source was quoted as saying. "She priced herself right out."

The news follows the recent announcement that X-Men movie makers 20th Century Fox have dropped director Bryan Singer following his decision to revive the Superman film franchise for Warner Bros.

If this is to be believed it looks like her ego is getting ahead of herself and she is opting out of a successful film franchise for more Catwoman.

Halle actually believes there will be a sequal? They aren't even making a profit from the first one!

Her ego is what inspired her to take this role in the first place. She didn't care that it had a terrible script, she was just glad to have the lead role.

I like the character of Storm, but she really hasn't done much in the movies. If she won't return in X3, that just leaves more screen time for the more important characters.

J/K to each his or her own, I guess. Maybe I was a bit harsh before. I have heard that it has a few fun moments, but the majority is saying that they wanted their money back at the end of it. I listen to critics, because I don't want to waste my money on a bad movie. If I see a lot of bad reviews, I usually wait until it comes out on video. I have problems with the entire concept of this movie, so I'll wait until it comes on TV. Just my humble opinion.

I'm not a reader of the current Catwoman comic book, because I spend far too much on other titles already, but from what I hear it's being praised as one of the best written comics out there right now. It has a very Godfather-ish, noir feel to it, and it would adapt perfectly to the big screen. It's ironic that the people who made the movie said that they were making a more "modernized" version of Catwoman, and then they go and give her superpowers! She's supposed to be like Batman, fighting crime because she was trained, not because of superpowers. The plot is like something out of a bad 70's movie. How exaclty did they "modernize" her?

When it comes to comic to screen movies, they tend to doctor things as much as they can to interest those that have not read the comics. But to completely change a base point in the character does not make any sense at all. You would still be able to follow it...people still did with Batman.

The more I see the trailers the more I cringe, and that costume, well i'm not going to start on that.

I was up late last night and Catwoman-T4 Movie Special was on,out of boredom I watched it,I really dont wanna see the movie,the costume for one thing ..well its just cringe-worthy,and at the premiere they had women dressed up in the costume and walking down the red carpet..do these people have no shame?
