Isn't it odd how the supporting women in Buffy die from realistic causes, where the women in Angel die from stupidity. Think about it, Cordy was tricked into Ascending (which killed her), and Fred was tricked into opening the Coffin (which killed her). Joyce dies from a Brain Tumor and Tara died from a Gunshot wound.

And then the men, they all died pretty heroically. Spike died saving the world, Doyle died protecting the helpless and his team, and Wes died on a mission Angel sent him on.

Missed the mark on that one!
Ummmm, why would anyone assume the thread was about Al seeing as how A) He usually can keep up with anyone here in intelligent debate and B) He's, you know, not dead and all.

And how is Fred opening a Coffin at work a sign of stupidity? It's unfortunate, sure, but you really can't say her stupidty killed her. Especially since she was supposed to be, you know, a freakin' genius.

I was wondering how this thread could be associated with Al, too....
jenny calendar didn't die from a "realistic cause." neither did buffy, for that matter, either time.

Well, drowning is a realistic cause, but the circumstances surrounding why Buffy was drowned were not realistic. 🙂

that's what i meant. jumping off a tower is realistic too i suppose, but the circumstances were definitely not haha.

Can someone explain to me what on Earth this title has to do with anything? Am I missing something? Did someone die?

Nah, Cockends just trying to be funny.

Cordelia died because she was manipulated by a being that was older than time - Buffyverse, you strike me as the sort that could be manipulated by a 10 year old who'd fallen asleep!

Fred died because she was a scientist and was curious.
Angel, Wesley, Spike and Gunn had done many more things far more dangerous and 'stupid' than that - they were just luckier.

Jenny Calendar, now she died, in part, because of stupidity - she stayed after school, alone, without weapons, when one of THE worst vampires of all time, who actually had a grudge against her, was on the loose and followed the pointless laws of being female and alone when a serial killer was about.

BUT apart from that stupidity, the only stupidity I have seen is the original posters lame attempts at being funny!

I think a MOD should change the title for two reasons - 1) when I come back, I might be in a bad mood and start being pissy 2) It bares no relation to the actual thread.

OHHH - and an FYI to ALL the ****wits on this board that are 'sure' I'm the cause of ANY argument I am involved with - take this case in point and shove it!

As I say, I might come back and be in a bad mood.

Oh dear..., I feel another lame attempt at being funny coming on... being manipulated by a 10 year old that's fallen asleep? That was a disgraceful statement, you didn't apologise to the other 10 year olds.

Also you forgot about Marcie, I never understood why she became invisible and had a grudge against Cordelia.
Willow would have been really happy if Cordelia had completely ignored her.

2 things - your first comment doesn't make sense
Your second comment doesn't make sense

Marcie Ross didn't die, nor did Cordelia.

Marcie 'needed' the attention of someone, but she wasn't just ignored by Cordelia, she was ignored by everyone, including the faculty AND people like Willow - see the comments in the year book.

The reason she turned invisible - the energies of the hellmouth exacerbated the feelings of invisibility and loneliness she was feeling.

Where in my post is the word die? Cordelia is part of the every-one, and as every-one ignored Marcie, Cordelia did ignore her. Also about the comments in the year book, Willow's entry was different.
Willow had Xander though (and presumably Jesse, though it sure seems like neither of them gave a crap about him one episode after his death!). Marcie was ignored by virtually everyone. For some people, even bad attention is better than no attention.

Illyrian - you obviously were never a teenage girl! At high school, you need friends to get through. Being an outsider with outsiders is okay, it makes you feel part of something. Being completely alone is not a nice feeling. If Marci had have been ignored by Cordelia, but was friends with Willow, or Jonathan, or, well, anyone, she would have been okay.

My best friend at high school was ignored by a lot of people. The teacher we had for 3 years forgot her name, a boy that had been in our class for 2 years introduced himself to her and people generally did not know who she was. But that was okay, because she had friends. She had me, and a couple of others that cared about her (and obviously her family as well, which I get the distinct impression Marci did NOT)

I get what you're saying about the 10 year old. I think you mean ANY 10 year old should be able to do it, not just A 10 year old.

I tried to pass myself off as a teenage girl, but I got expelled from that school. About the 10 year old thing, ANY sounds better.

That's so sad for your friend. :(

Which is why your comment makes no sense.
This thread is suggesting that the deaths of women on Buffy are 'realistic' while the deaths of woman on Angel are caused by 'stupidity'.

How does ANY of that relate to your comment on this thread?

And the 'Willow' entry was 'Have a *great* summer' as opposed to the 'Have a *nice* summer' which is clearly just Willows variation of 'I don't know you so I'll write something generic'.

Maybe if you want to add to a discussion you should pay more attention to it than the weak attempts at humour?

Just a suggestion.
