Changed Opinion of Spike

I watched Season 7 again just recently and I'll admit that after watching it a second time my opinion of Spike has changed.

I used to despise him in Seasons 6 & 7 but I think after watching it all again I've begun to really understand Spike and I've grown to really love his character.

He became selfless and caring....he became a "champion". His speech to Buffy in the bedroom really made me realize that he wasn't the same Spike he used to be....he was so much better!! That's not to say I didn't like the old "killer" Spike but the new Spike seemed so much wiser to me.

Anyway....not trying to get all sentimental about Spike....anyone else find they had a change of opinion after watching it again?

I was more used to it than the first time I saw it. The first time I was more annoyed at 'good' Spike because 'evil' Spike was one of my favourite characters.

But I know what you mean about seeing it differently the second time round.

Yeah I can completely understand....when I first watched it I thought Spike was pathetic because I loved his character in season 2 and how evil and dark he was but the second time around I began to really understand the changes that happened in him and I grew to love his character again.

Although....I still like Spike the best in season 2!!! :: dracula
