Chanterelle/Angel and Anne Steele/Angel

I was thinking, did Angel see Anne back when she was Chanterelle. I think she even talked to him and the two scoobies with him. I figured he would have remembered her or something, but im just going off memory on that. So did they interact, shouldnt he have recognized her?

They spoke for like a second, in fairness she looked different as Chanterelle as she looks as Anne and he was all caught up with Ford and Buffy to really take notice

He did see her when she was Chantarelle. I think there are a few things keeping him from remembering her when he sees her as Anne.

1. It was a very passing interaction; only lasted a couple of seconds.
2. He was distracted from worrying about Buffy and didn't really look at her.
3. He dismissed her as a silly child and didn't really look at her.
4. She was in LOTS of makeup and a fancy dress as Chantarelle, and dressed normally with lots less makeup as Anne.
5. She wasn't pouting as much as Anne (I'd say she's finally happy).
6. He's generally self-centered, so unless you make a big impression, he's not going to pay much attention to you and remember you later.

That's my take.

Chances are if he can remember all his kills then maybe remember her. He may have remembered her voice, didn't he look at her twice before he spoke to her, so maybe he did remember her, he just didn't let any-one know. ?

*shrug* Like I said, my opinion. Generally, I like Angel. But he does have his faults, and that's one that I see.

I'd say the same reasons apply to why Buffy didn't immediately recognize her as to why Angel didn't immediately recognize her, just throw in emotional trauma, too.

Oh, and also, the writers would want to remind us, since she'd only shown up in one episode. Before that, that is.

If you murder someone your suposed to remeber their face as well as you would someone you basically said hello too at a party, emm no. Not unless you have the memory of elephant, that can remember everything.

I guess you missed the bit with Halfrek and Spike when there was the moment of recognition - LYRI whats the episode(Lyri's my big gun on anything like this)?

Anyway, I don't see why he should remember her and anyone who thinks he should, you try remember a person you met for 10 seconds 3/4 years ago when things were fraught andf since both you and that person have changed immensely including a realy physical change in the other person.

The writers knew who she was, they obviously made it so he didn't recognise her.

No I actually thought Spike had seen her before and failed to recognise her and then Halfreck/Cecily called him 'William' and he remembered...I'm not so sure now! *shrugs*

Obviously you didn''t get the jist of that little injoke. They did recognise each other and you could see it from their expressions, its just the last time he saw her she was Cecily, probably not wanting the others to know incase she started telling them all about his poetry etc

They pretend not to know each other, shuffling nervously and changing the subject, the whole point of the scene was to be an injoke to "Fool for Love".
