Cool list though, name meaning interest me too, the characters names do seem connected to their personality i think. Also, I cant remember why but i always thought for some reason Buffy was something to Elizabeth?
My names lee and its old english for Tree. And i'm pretty much a tree.

I always thought Buffy was a nickname for Elizabeth too. (Of course in Buffy's case, "Buffy" is her actual name.)

Liam is just a shortening of William... so yes, that means Angel and Spike have the same first name.

Then there's Darla, which derives from "darling," which means "little dear."

Drusilla is the feminine version of the Roman name Drusus (a family name), which means "strong and sturdy." It's a Biblical name.

Oz is a nickname derived from Osbourne (his last name). It's an Anglo-Saxon name meaning originally "god-bear" -- which seems kind of appropriate, in a way, considering his werewolfyness.

Riley comes from the Irish Gaelic family name Raghallaigh, and means brave or valiant.

Faith of course comes from the word "faith," which comes from the Latin fidem.

Kennedy is from the Gaelic family name Cinneide, which means... um... "ugly head." Which doesn't seem to fit, but will delight all the Kennedy-haters out there.

Joss is short for Joseph, which comes from the Hebrew Yosef, which means "he will add."

I know that it's about name meanings and not namesakes but I can't ignore the name Cordelia.

King Lear anyone?
