I can't remember when it was first mentioned (probably in one of his first appearances), but when Willow asks Riley/Walsh about missing out Oz's name in the register in The Initiative (the episode, not the facility 😛), she says 'Riley, I noticed you left off a name today in roll call. Osborne, Daniel Osborne, Oz?'

I think there are a lot of cute names on the show, when it first started though my favorite name was Cordelia and I could certainly name a child that, but then that's mostly because I'm a Shakespear nerd. 🙂

Hopefully you have kids with someone who likes Buffy as much as you. 😎 Because I pitched many Buffy names and they were denied.

I think Tara, Kaylee, Anya and River are pretty names that I wouldn't mind naming a child of mine (boy, I'm gonna have to marry someone as nerdy as me to be able to do that).

But I do like that Joss uses a lot of unique names for his characters. 🙂

I love the majority of the names they use. my favourites include; Willow, Faith, Dawn & River. I probably wouldn't call my child any of them (although part of me would love to!) but I would certainly use the names in fiction or something. I love shows/movies that use unique names. You usually find them in sci-fi/fantasy as they don't seem "realistic" in real-world fiction, as not that many are actually called that. Whereas in a fantasy context they work perfectly!

Ever since I was about five (and prior to watching Buffy) I desperately wanted to call my daughter Cordelia. It's my favourite name ever!! But now, when I do have a baby, I'm worried people will think I just named her after Buffy because I'm such a big fan... it sucks, because I love the name!!
As for pets, I want to get a black and white cat and call her Miss Kitty Fantastico, and if I ever get a tabby cat, his name shall be Rupert because he will sit in my library and guard my books 😀
I also very much love the name Willow... it's very unique "hello little tree!"
And Anya is a gorgeous name, in fact most of Joss' names are fantastic - they're individual, but no so weird it sounds unrealistic. And I love the way a name can so totally suit and not suit a character all at once - big examples here are Angel and Faith. He names his characters well.

I think that actually was the first time it was mentioned. It's like the writers thought, "Let's call him Daniel now!" it seemed like they made sure she said, "Oz" so we'd know exactly who she was talking about.

Anyway, I really like the name Elizabeth 😉 I seriously feel like I have to name my kid Buffy haha ugh it would just be so perfect. I'm 90% sure that whoever I marry is not going to go for that (I doubt any sane/non Buffy obsessed person would) but Buffy is a very adorable nickname in my opinion.

I also like Cordelia and Liam.
