Am I the only one who has trouble distinguishing one character from the other, especially in crowd scenes? Buffy, Willow, and Xander are pretty easy, especially when Buffy's carrying the scythe or Willow's flying, but characters like Faith, Andrew, Oz, even Riley, are just not drawn with enough similarity to the original actors for me to be able to identify.

oh me too, sometimes it's confusing, the main characters are pretty easy,
Since "Retreat" I have a pretty hard time telling Faith and Dawn apart. I still have no clue whether that was supposed to be Dawn or Faith on the porch in #27.

I'm actually content with the fact that they don't try to make them look like the actors (because that can backfire like whoa) but I agree with the fact that a lot (not all of them. Xander, Willow, Buffy, Giles, Satsu and Bay are pretty easy) of characters are just not drawn distinguishable enough. They all have more or less the same face which makes it hard to tell characters with, say, the same hair colour (Dawn, Faith and Kennedy look very similiar, as do Andrew and Oz) apart.

Dawn and Faith drawing is the only thing I'm confused. I don't that sometimes George Jeanty draws Faith with straight hair. It makes she looks like Dawn. But thanks for their different eyes color. 🙂

I have to say, Ethan Rayne drawing looks like the actor the most.

Yeah, I often has the same problem.
Especially with Dawn and Faith as others already mention.

Overall though I had much more problem when I started to read to comics.
Had problems understanding what they wanted to show at all sometimes. Luckily it works much better for me now, which makes me enjoy them much more.

I could tell with the main characters, but I could never figure out who was who in the potential slayers group. Except Vi of course. (Go Felicia Day!) Distinguishing between Kennedy and everyone else with dark brown hair was a lost cause for me.

Yeah. I had a hard time identifying Kennedy from Oz's wife, and Dawn from Faith.

WHOA....WAIT A SECOND. Did I miss an episode? Oz has a wife? Do you mean Riley? 😉 😀 😛

We're talking about the characters as they are drawn in the Season 8 comics, not the actors themselves.
Some characters are all drawn the same to me especially Oz and Riley and Andrew, also Faith and Kennedy and Dawn.

I find it easy to tell Faith from Dawn, Dawn is always drawn with a round face and fuller lips while Faith has a thinner face and smaller lips. But I tend to confuse Faith and Kennedy most of the time, as well as Andrew and Giles when Giles isn't wearing glasses. I thought Riley was recognizable, but I can see how Oz and Andrew can get mixed up.

Oops! Thought we were talking about the episodes! Well even in the comics, it's the same for me ( of course felicia day is not in it though 😉 ) Riley gets confusing, Kennedy is a lost cause for me. I don't think I've read #27 yet, I buy them as they come on in the volumes. If I have though, I feel liks slapping my forehead. Sorry for the mix-up, this is what I get for staying up until 4 in the morning on the boards 😉 I need to learn to read.

I couldn't tell apart Oz's wife and Kennedy either.

The last couple of Angel comics, Angel looks Asian or something. I don't agree with the artist. 😛

Serious? I think Angel, Spike, Groo, and everyone look spot on.

To me, Lynch/Whedon Angel comics have been pitch perfect in every area. Aftermath was abysmal and Dru was mediocre...

Angel looks just like his AS2-3 appearance to me.

In terms of the Buffy comic, I agree, and I don't understand it as the actors looked nothing alike.

OK maybe not this one. I think it was issue 20 or 21 or 19. one of those.
I couldn't tell apart Oz's wife and Kennedy either.

Oh god, so true. :\ I spent a few pages going, "What in the hell is Kennedy doing with...?" and then I came to my senses.

I think Riley looks most similar to the original actors; I mean, that nose is so distinguishable.

Fredsicle agrees: OK maybe not this one. I think it was issue 20 or 21 or 19. one of those.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but I think you're referring to Aftermath where Angel looked like a squinting body builder and all of the characters looked like cartoon characters.
