Characters dying in the season finale

Hi everybody!

First of all, this thread is not about characters that actually die in the Buffy the Vampire Slayer finale.
This is about what you would have thought about deaths of characters. Which characters would you have liked to die in the finale and which to survive?

I know it's sad when beloved characters die, but it ads a whole lot to the story, in my opinion. Drama, all sorts of conflicts, grief, revenge and so forth.
I, for example, would have liked it, if Buffy had died in the last episode. I think it's really dramatic when the hero or heroin dies and to me it ads that "Wow!"-effect.
You know, when she or he dies saving the world, the series or the movie is over and you look at the screen and just think, "WOW!" 😱 and later think about how awesome it all ended.

Buffy's death, for example, would even make a spin-off possible, where the others keep on fighting evil. I often think about something like that.

What do you guys think about it? Would you kill off some of the main characters in the finale? Would you let everyone live on?

Although I was devastated when Giles died it does add a depth to the story to allow it to continue. I'd like to have killed off Dawn not only because I dislike her but also because I'd like to see the darker side of Buffy when she feels truly alone. I'd like to see if she turned into someone like Faith. I've always imagined what would happen if Angel had got staked but I don't think that would have added much to the series.
