Characters I don't like that much

so chasing cody it seems like u dont like riley lol i think u metioned it once or twice
 
Also I don't understand why people are so quick to forgive the fact that he murdered Jenny Calendar (among others).

Dru HE didn't kill Jenny, Angelus did. They are two seperate entities. So Angel couldn't be blamed for something he wasn't responsible for, the only thing I don't like about Angel, is that he feels the need to find redemption when he's done nothing wrong. None of it was his fault, it was all Angelus.

Now as for the characters I don't like that much... well Riley for one, he whines all the time for no reason at all. I didn't like season 3-5 Cordy either. She changed too much from the bitch I loved in earlier seasons of Buffy and Angel. Spike in later seasons bothered me, he made a better badass then good-guy IMO. I didn't like Darla whilst she was on Buffy either, too bubbly for me. Gunn just bothered me, I hate cocky people and Gunn was just way too cocky for me.

and I love pretty much everyone else =).
 
Honestly the characters that come to mind are Riley and Kennedy.....but thats too easy.

For me i don't blame the characters for me hating them.
Riley, i think that Marc Blucas is one of THE worst actors i have ever seen.....and i used to hold auditions in a Youth Center!!
He just has no emotion, he's so stiff and dull.
His role had so much going for it. Part of the Initiative, which i like. Buffy's new beau, which again should have been interesting but again no.

Kennedy, i think again had the scope to be not only a good character, but had scope to be integral in a deep and meaningful true lesbian relationship.
Instead the writers turned her into a stereotype. She was for the most part Willow's girl, infact most scenes you see her with Willow as though forcing her presence on us.
The other factor against her was time. She not only was rushed forward on terms of the relationship but because the show was coming to an end there was no room for character progression.
I would love to see a season 8 with her in it, cause Limon is beautiful and i believe with a few tweaks they could have made her a great character, and made her relationship with Willow alot more adult, but as is, we got the piece of crap.
 
Hmm I should probably rephrase the part about Gunn being cocky.. I don't like it when people act Cocky and then can't really back it up. Which gunn was just human and I hated how in the beggining he would act all superior to Angel, I just wanted to see Angel bite him 😛.

Actually i loved Gunn in the beginning. He was tough, intelligent and strong....but then they turned him into that blasted thing that no one could recognise. They turned him into a 'white man'...lol.
I loved how by the end of season 5 he got some(not all) of his credibility back as a character.

I believe if you add a character to your world, you do it for a reason. You have a plan with that character. The writers just had no clue. What they did with Gunn from season 3 onwards was complete tosh, pretty much pointless, and an example of how halfwitted the writers could be at times.

I could think up a million directions to take Gunn. The writers(twats) were so dumbfounded, season 5 came and they thought, bugger it, lets delete this Gunn character and introduce a lawyer to the group.

I don't think I Really hated any of the characters..Dawn at times..Xander at times for giving everyone a hard time about their past mistakes..acting like he's mr.perfect..I really really didn't LIKE KENNEDY..at all..
 
I don't think that there was ever a character that I truly [/i]disliked/i] throughout the whole show. There are many opportunities during the seven years of Buffy and five years of Angel where I went through spurts of not appreciating a character as much as I should've have.

For example, I spent a lot of time really hating Angel (From the start of his appearances until he got is own show). It doesn't mean that I hated him, I was just annoyed with him. But in the end I realize how integral he was to the shows.

There are tons of characters that have been not appreciated (see how I use appreciation instead of like/dislike.... much nicer!).
 
Yeah Xander was judgmental at times, but then again, no ones perfect.
 
I don't think the Gunn character was ever really developed..he seemed so out of place..and his character just wasn't all that important to me
 
everyone i kinda like all characters from both shows...........

Tara, Kennedy, Anya and Tara were sidekicks. Dawn and Connor were trouble-makers. Willow in Season 6 succeeded in making an arch enemy in Season 6, but completely forgotten in Season 7. Spike in Season 6 was a trouble-maker and in Season 7 plain boring. Cordelia in ATS became a soap opera figure instead of being a sidekick. Angel in ATS became a sidekick by the time they were in Pylea, was asking forgiveness for everything he did and lost his appeal.

Yes they were, Connor was vital to the plot of Angel in both season 3 and four! Dawn again vital to the plot in Season 5, then she had no use really in season 7, but she became an important person in season 7, showing her amazing skills at research! and both of them passed the trouble maker's stage, Conner I really liked in season 5 in Angel, even if he want in it that much, but we still got to see that he grew up! And Dawn in season 6 matured greatly, which lead to her become a main character in season 7.

Tara, Kennedy and Anya, while they were side-kicks had a major influence in the storylines in Buffy, with both Kennedy and Tara supplying love interest's for Willow, and Tara was absolutely an important character! She was not only a side-kick, she was a friend to the other members of the gang, Buffy turned to her for help in season 6, showing that she was part of the group, and not just connected to it through Willow! Kennedy was a potential so that tied her into the storyline for season 7! Anya again was a love interest to one of the characters but also provided comedy, which was hilarious! And gave us such brilliant episodes as Selfless, which made Anya one of my fav characters!

How you can say Willow wasn't important in season 6+7 I don't understand at all! Just because she became the villain, does not make her not important, That storyline was amazing to watch, and in season 7 we got to see a true life f story of what someone in that situation would have to do, cope with the guilt, She could not jump right in there and start using magick again, she had to take her time, and then of course without Willow Chosen would have to be completly re-written!

And while I don't like Spike, he was still important(I wish he wasn't but he was)

I honestly cant believe you said that about Cordy, she was not a soap opera figure, She was an absolutely vital person in Angel. As well as being one of the most funny, entertaining and amazing character to watch grow!!

And I don't get your last point about Angel, How the hell was he a sidekick!!
 
I think anyone in the opening credits is concidered a "main" character.

No she wasnt, BUT thats why its a contested Issue.

She was in more episodes than the average guest star, infact i think(not too sure) that she got more episodes then Riley who was a perma-member for a year.
She DID achieve open credit status so for the purposes of the comment

she fulfills the requirements she was integral to the Willow plot of season 4, of season 5 and Season 6.
She had an important role in the Glory finale, the season 6 finale for other characters. She was also given a story of empowerment herself in theform of standing up against her oppressive family, and became a stronger woman followed by being a replacement adult figure for Buffy after Joyce and Giles have left her......so thats not exactly an unimportant character
