Are there any characters that you had an opinion on that later on changed, for better or for worse?

the coloring on buffy in your banner is so freaking gorgeous I just keep staring at it
Wesley was annoying at first, what with him taking Giles' position. I gradually grew to love him though, especially when he moved over to Angel.

I also don't like Xander as much as I used to, I just don't find a lot of the things he says funny.

I was indifferent to Spike on first watch of BtVS. After rewatch, and seeing him on AtS, I love him. (For the record, not as much as Giles and Wesley. But he's my third favorite character.)

Agree! But I still hate Wesley on BtVS. I really hate him. Even more than Kennedy. But Wesley on AtS is probably my favorite character.

Thanks to [MENTION=8356]HisMrs[/MENTION], I really appreciate Xander. I love Xander, but didn't care for Nick's acting. I still think he's the weakest actor, but I've grown to love him like the rest of the Scoobies.

I didn't totally hate Wes on BtVS but I strongly disliked him -- as we were supposed to do. Kudos to Alexis for a fine acting job. And I LOVED him on AtS - definitely my favorite character there.

BTW, I hated that episode in Season 5 (or was it Season 4) AtS when Wesley-BtVS is back. What a great job Alexis did of returning as Wesley-BtVS 5 years later.... and I hated him for it. lol

Yes! Definitely Wesley! Just saw his first few episodes on Angel, and I love this guy! He's easily a favourite Angel character now. On Buffy, he was annoying and boring and not funny haha..

Willow--I'm probably in the minority(for disliking this character), but I used to LOVE early Willow (the computer geek one). I cannot stand magic!Willow, especially in season 8.

Wesley - I hated him on BtVS my first watch, but grew to love him as my favorite character on Angel. Funny enough, when I went back and watched season 3 of Buffy again, I felt the complete opposite of what I felt the first time. Where before I saw Wesley as in the way, now I see Buffy, Giles, and the rest of the Scoobies being total dicks to him. No one ever really gave him a chance besides Cordelia.

Willow - I loved Willow the first 3 seasons, but her manner of speaking and demeanor became more annoying as the series went on. I started to actively dislike her in the final two seasons, albeit the magic plots had to do with it too.

Xander - His jokes are so unfunny. I'm ashamed of myself for finding him hilarious the first time around.

Spike - Seasons 2-5 he was perfect. I loved him. But when the later seasons made him Buffy's bitch I started to hate him. Luckily, AtS season 5 managed to redeem him for me.
 
Wesley, didn't like him at first but now he's one of my favorite characters. He was annoying in Btvs but on Ats he is all kinds of awesome.

Spike. I wish I could go back to when I was just indiffirent to him, now I really hate him.
 
I'd probably have to go with Spike as well. Loved him when he was bad, and always liked him for his witty comments, but slowly started to dislike him after season 4-5. I would have liked it more if he had stayed bad and ocationally helped Buffy etc. A bit like in episodes such as

Becoming
Lovers Walk (I know he wasn't helping them,more the other way around. But Spike/Buffy/Angel,fighting on the same side etc,but they weren't friends then)
Pangs

Atleast in my opinion anyway, so when they weren't exactly arch enemies, but they weren't friends/lovers.

Still like him though lol.
 
Angel- I've said this before several times, mostly just as a joke, but it is nonetheless absolutely true. I never cared for him on "Buffy" except when he was Angelus, and not only, or even primarily, because he was hanging around Spike's girl too much. I didn't care for Angel before he got his own show (which I never watched regularly until after "Buffy" ended, which made the change all the more noticeable) because he just makes an absolutely TERRIBLE sidekick. And that's just about all that he was most of the time in Sunnydale: Robin to Buffy's Batman. Or maybe he was supposed to be both Green Arrow and Lois Lane, whichever was required at the moment, both the #2 fighter and the hero's girlfriend all in one package.The character as he was written, the way that David portrayed him, or a combination of the two, is just too imposing to take the Number 2 place, and I'm not sure that he was even that high in the show's hierarchy. He WANTED to be the guy in charge, you could see that plainly enough, and he had the "stuff" to be the leader, but he never could be as long as he was in Buffy's town.

I think you may be talking about spin the bottle, in season 4? And yeah, yay alexisis and his super awesome acting skills.

I don't know if I've really changed my opinion about anyone but my love grows and grows with each viewing.

I hated Xander the first two times I watched Buffy and then third time I couldn't find anything to hate about him. Everything that had bugged me didnt anymore, I understood him better and where he was coming from. So I didnt get mad at him anymore. Now I love him.

Dawn. I couldn't stand Dawn until recently lol. Now I like her. Though she still annoys me at times when watching the show particularly in season 6.
 
I used to dislike Xander. I couldn't forgive him for his flaws. Now, I see that's exactly what makes him a great character.

I still have an issue with the "Kick his ass" line, though.

I used to adore Angel. I still adore him pre-AtS season 5, and excluding his involement with Buffy. I love him so much in AtS season 3.

But ever since Twangel, I haven't been able to forgive him.
 
Xander: When I first watched the show, I didn't really like him at all. I thought he was a lil lame, and stupid(mind you I was 12-13 at the time). But when I watched the show entirely, years after, I loved his character. It probably had to do with the fact the french translation sucked when it came to his one liners or puns. 😛 But yea, I really like him now. He has obvious flaws and it actually make me appreciate him even more. Bander will happen someday!!!

Cordelia: I wasn't that big a fan on BtVS. I thought she was funny, but that was pretty much it. Once I started watching Angel, tho... I immediately loved her badly! She's just awesome, and it's too bad Buffy and her never met after she left Sunnydale. Would have been funny. 🙂 She changed so much.

Angel: I really, but really disliked him on BtVS. I thought he was boring and lame. I hesitated on watching his show for almost a year, just because of that. Good thing I finally decided to give it a shot. He is sooo much better there, and he totally had me when he realized he had a son. 😀

Connor: First time I watched Angel, I really disliked him. I thought he was freaking annoying, whiny and bratty. But this is definitely the character that really changed for me through rewatch. The fact I've talked a lot about him with a few friends who loved him might have helped, but still... I just don't feel the same thing for him now. Yea he's annoying sometimes, but then he's a teen, lol. 😛 And I focus much more on his point of view, now. He pretty much got manipulated and lied to by everyone he trusted and he probably always had this feeling that his dad had abandoned him(which wasn't the case, but put yourself in his place). So yea, definitely not on my disliked list anymore. 😛

My thoughts exactly! Codelia was a bitchy, annoying, spoiled brat. Yes, she was funny but that kind of one dimensional comedy can't last forever. That's what I love about her, she changed. And technically they did meet after sunnydale when B came to visit in season 1 of Angel but that was still pre-awesome Cordy. A real Buffy-Cordy duel would have been sweet tho!!
 
Wesley for me as well. I didn't like him much on BtVS but I love him in Angel I think the two work well together. I always liked Cordelia in BtVS but loved her so much more in Angel.

^This, I actually quite like Connor now, and think he could have been soo much worse than what he was.
