Making Charisma a Bond girl just might not be the blessing everybody seems to think that it is. Traditionally, Bond girls don't go on to very successful movie careers. Other than Halle Berry, who had a very well established career and fan base before becoming a Bond girl, very few have landed any big roles after their respective Bond movies. Granted, Charisma has a loyal following among Buffy fans, but otherwise she's pretty unknown. A Bond movie might pretty well destroy her career.
Plus, the Bond franchise seems to have lost a good bit of its box office appeal over the last few installments. We may have seen the last of, "Bond...James Bond," for awhile. (And no, that has nothing to do with my dislike of latest actor to play the role, it's about the huge box office returns that haven't been coming in lately.)

Which is interesting considering the next two Bond movies have already been commissioned, not including Quantum of Solace based on

Also, Teri Hatcher, Famke Janssen, Honor Blackman, Kim Basinger(if you include Never Say Never Again) and Grace Jones would disagree with you, as would the likes of Ursula Andres, Claudine Auger and Sophie Marceau who have been busy in their own right.
Or Pam Bouvier who had a great stint on Law and Order.
I would suggest you don't assume to know what people wish to get out of their careers as everyone has different personal goals, it might not be to have a glittering movie career, and Charisma might not be interested in a Movie Career either.
HOWEVER, I don't think that Charisma would play a good Bond Girl, she just doesn't seem to fit in with my idea of what a Bond Girl should be.
I know it is kinda cliche but I personally feel she should do a 'Cordy' style show and be a comic lead in a sitcom, I think she would be excellent at that.

FYI - Quantum of Solace has a budget, reportedly, of $230,000,000 - hardly the kind of money to throw at a failing franchise.

"Casino Royale's" cost to profit return was about 500%. "Die Another Day's" was about 400%. "Dr No" made 6000%, "From Russia With Love" made 4000%, and the highest return for the entire Bond franchise, "Goldfinger," returned 4200% profits for the initial investment. All of the statistics reflect box office returns, not video tape/DVD sales, which would push the older movies' earnings even higher. The prophet to earnings percentage has dropped with each new movie since "Goldfinger," which retains to this day one of the highest cost to profit returns in history.
As for Bond girls, several of them have managed to continue a movie career with reasonable success, but aside from Jenssen in the "X Men" series, none have had any really spectacular success on the big screen, unless you count Grace Jones in "Conan the Destroyer."

You said it lost its Box Office appeal, which it clearly hasn't.
You are now arguing that they are making less profit - two different things.
The gross these films are making are still going up and up BUT the studios have decided it is a worthy investment to put more money in at the bottom line.
Daniel Craig bores me, but he has brought in a fortune for the Franchise and rejuvenated it. Don't mix up your arguments mate, makes you look silly.
Which is why I told you not to assume that is what they wanted.
You seem to assume that a startlingly huge big screen career is what these 'Bond Girls' wanted, when that may not be the case, but what they have had is an enduring lucrative and positive career.
There are some actors out there that do it for the glory BUT there are more that do it for the art, that do it because they want some lasting career that will give them comfort in the later stages of life knowing they did something worthwhile for themselves and for the fans as opposed to selling their souls to the big screen. I like to think that Charisma is doing something for more than just a salary.

Given the price of tickets at the time of "Goldfinger's" release, something over 62 million people saw it during its first run. By comparison, "Casino Royale" only sold about 12 million tickets. Maybe the franchise will continue for a few more movies, but eventually the book keepers are going to put a halt to it.

OK, this simple comment shows you have no idea what you are talking about.
You cannot compare footfall for one movie in the 1960s to that of one in the same franchise 40 years later as a basis for an argument that single franchise is losing viewers.
If you had any sense, you would have known that the Cinema has had a decline in Cinemagoers for decades.
With so much variety, not just at the movies but with other means of entertainment, of course the numbers will decline HOWEVER with a share of the market, to be the 39th Biggest Box Office film of all time, that is come achievement when you take into account movies like Star Wars Ep 5 and 6, Men In Black, Shrek, Indiana Jones and The Matrix all scored lower.
In fact with the exception of ET, all rest of the top 40 are from 90's and 00's.
The fact that this film has less people going to see it compared to 40 years ago doesn't mean jack to the continuation of this Franchise. In fact because it is still pulling in its current numbers, more money is being invested in the rejuvenated Franchise.
You need to get your facts right, your point clear and get a clue before you start pulling wild statistics out of the air that you obviously have no idea how to use or how to frame them in a debate.

For a start, I am not convinced that Honor Blackman would call 'Pussy Galore' her career high point, so how can you call it that?
She was a mainstay of British TV thanks to her role in The Avengers and after Bond, continued with TV in the UK.
Again, you're all with the assumption that these womens careers took a down turn when you know nothing about them at all.
Since her time on Bond, Denise Richards has had 2 children, been married and embroiled in a sticky divorce. She's also worked occasionally but it isn't a stretch to believe that her priorities changed due to having children, whom are both under the age of 6, were born just over 2 years after she began dating Charlie Sheen.
Shirley Eaton , a perfect example of someone who shuns the lime light to start a family. She is actually known for it, yet you use that against her - interesting how retirement from a career to start a family is, in your mind, a negative thing.
I'll concede Tanya Roberts because obviously all she'll be remembered for is her role in Bond...that is unless you are a Charlies Angels fan and remember her humble beginnings in TV and know that she was a star of that little known Sitcom, That 70's Show and others but we won't go into how you again have assumed to knowing what these women want from life.

I'm trying to think of past bond girls Charisma could have portrayed. For some reason the one that popped into my head was the bit part role of Plenty O Toole (named after her father perhaps) from Diamond are Forever.
Maybe the Halle Berry Role. I don't think Jinx had to be black. Any race would do there I think.

I have no problems with Charisma as a Bond girl. Why not? Granted, she is now at least 37 or 38 years old. But both Honor Blackman and Maud Adams were at least 37 years old, when they were "Bond Girls".
Destroy what career? I hate to be harsh, but she no longer has one. How could being a Bond Girl harm any career she has left any further?
