Charisma as Buffy?

I heard somewhere that Charisma originally tried out for the part of Buffy Summers but was instead cast as Cordelia Chase.

How much different do you think the show would be if she had been cast as Buffy Summers instead of SMG?

Do you think it would have made a difference at all??

I heard in an interview that it was SMG, she got cast as cordelia but they still hadn't found a buffy and she begged them for the part so they gave it to her and cast charisma C as cordy instead
 
Well, as much as I love Cordy...eew. i wouldn't like that. She would do fine, I guess, don't get me wrong, it's just...eeh.
 
I can't honestly imagine anyone else playing the role of Buffy other than SMG herself. I did at one point imagine Charisma in the role of Buffy, but I really think that Charisma suited the role of Cordelia much more than I can picture her playing Buffy.
 
I can't see Charisma as a blonde and Buffy has to be blonde.

Julie Benz would have made a pretty good Buffy too.

Also, SMG would have made a great Cordelia.

Buffy is definitely a blonde!! She wouldn't be the same as a brunette, etc.
I couldn't imagine that. But, it must be SMG using her good looks for the role...*rolls eyes*.
 
I can't imagine Cordelia and Buffy being played by anyone else other than Charisma and Sarah.The casting is perfect the way it is.

Elizabeth Anne Allen was the girl who played Amy.
as far as i can remember, SMG tried out for Cordeila, and Charisma, Julie and Elizabeth all tried out for buffy, but i also remember reading something about Joss originally wanting Katie Holmes for the role of Buffy, but he couldn't contract her because she was under 18 at the time and wasn't allowed to work all the long hours required for the role...but is it just me, or do i remember hearing that SMG was only 17 when she got cast? not that i wanted Katie in the role, because that would have been...::Shakes head, and clamps eyes shut:: nope, don't even wanna try to imagine it!!
 
I thought Sarah was like 18 or 19 when she first started on Buffy.But I don't know about that stuff.I do remember when I found out Charisma was 27 when she started in Buffy,I was like

OMG!! me too!! i didn't find out until some time during angel S3, when everyone was talking about the fact the CC is actually a few months OLDER that DB!! it was def a jaw-hitting-the-floor moment!! LOL!
 
Wow, she really does look good for her age! I know she's older than DB, but not by a whole lot. Funny how she ends up playing a HS student and he's a 240 yr. old vampire. LOL!

Anyway, according to imdB, SMG was born in 1977. Buffy went on the air in 1997, so she would have been 20, but conceivably, she could have been cast when she was 19.

Elizabeth Anne Allen, yeah, that's her! She was really good, I liked her. She would have made a good Cordelia too, imo.
 
Yeah SMG was 18 or 19 when the show started. I can never remember if she's two or three years older than me....
