I just received my copy of Lost Boys 3: The Thirst. I don't have time to watch it before work, but while studying the back cover I saw that Charisma is hosting the special features on the DVD. I guess this will be voice overs and shots of her talking? I have no idea, but when I watch it tonight I'll def hop back on here and let you all know.

There's a Lost Boy's Three?
What, did it go straight to DVD?
Not a good sign if it did...

yes, the sequel earned 3x its budget so now theres a 3rd
I don't care for The Lost boys, no matter what movie we're talking about (Yes, I've watched the first one). But I wouldn't mind to watch/listen to Charisma host a special features. It's fun to discover things like that. I was pleasently surprised to hear Anthony Head on the Doctor Who dvd's.

I used to be quite the fan of Lost Boy's...

Right?? Ha ha Never heard of it! And I would consider myself a fan of some classic 80's vamp action with the Corey's! The other ones must not have had them in it....hence the reason I have never heard of them. lol 🙂

Why is Charisma voicing the DVD? Because she's in it or because she just played a cool character on a vampire show?

Get this Washburne! I live in Santa Cruz where it was filmed and they did a showing down at our beach boardwalk... and Corey Feldom played with his band! Awesome and terrible!! 8,000 people showed up! Now that's some fan power. My advice is to just love it for its 80'sness!

edgar frog is in the sequel, edgar and alan frog are in the new one.
So, charisma is standing at the top of a staircase, candles cob webs, full moon, etc, very cliche. She pretty much introduces the special feature about why people find vampires so erotic. Next she's in a bar...drinking wine or blood, not sure. she introduces the themes of vampires picking their meals, women, virgins, and how to seduce their meals. Then she's still in the bar with a red rose doing the whole "he loves me, he loves me not" thing. She introduces the topic of vampire bites and why people would like to be vampires. Next, she's in a bedroom in front of a mirror and introduces the topic of why vampires have been very popular and still are 100 years since their first creation in media. Then she's still in the haunted house she's been in the whole time, in a hallway somewhere, and wraps up the whole thing.

The special feature is about 12 minutes total. Charisma is in maybe 2:15 of it, with very cheesy hosting lol

Love me some Charisma!
Thanks O.M. and SummerLilly...
Believe it or not, me throwing that make-up photo up there wasn't meant to be a complete distraction from this thread and actually has a neat little story behind it as my teacher did the make-up in one of the scene's in Lost Boy's (the first movie).
The bathroom scene where Nanook knocks the Vamp into the tub of Holy Water and the vamp comes out all melting? That was Shawn's scene.
Anyway...years later and I'm a student of his and he calls me over to his house and say's he's found an old Polaroid and if I want it I can have it but if I don't he's going to throw it away. So I said,"Let me see it." and he tells me he grabbed it off the test make-up's board the day he was done doing the make-up for his scene on Lost Boy's...here's the pic he gave me(I put it in a little frame and kept it):

And when he gave it to me I said,"I think you just gave me an idea for Halloween this year."
That Halloween was definitely a kick.🙂
Thanks for the info on Charisma Hero! I might have to watch the special features section of the new movie! Love me some Cordelia.

But then she's only introducing? She's not in the actual movie? At all?
What? She's gonna be our new 'Elvira' or something...
hm, well I do love me some Charisma but it seems a bit odd to stick her in there, I guess it's her association to vampire shows that gives her that honor...

yea, no she's not in the movie...at all. not even a cameo...just hostin the special features :;shrugs;:
Actually the third one I thought sounded much better than the second; the second was basically the first with chicks. The third was (the living) Corey and the other Frog brother reunited etc. I actually wouldnt hold it against being a direct to video. Have not seen it mind you, as I prefer good movies (and i dont really consider even the original lost boys to be a 'good' movie... sorry.. I like my horror movies to be horrific not coming of a age tale with scary faces)

I don't sell Lost Boy's short. It was single-handedly responsible for introducing Vampire's to the Punk and Street Goth Scene.
I mean, it would have happened sooner or later but Lost Boy's got there first and so deserves the creds...
Can you imagine what Buffy would have been WITHOUT Lost Boy's?
All the vamps would have been running around in capes and sleeping in Coffin's...No thanks!😀

Oh, I see it short. I sell it way short. But do you think its 'scary'? Oh dont get me started!! one of the great regrets of my youth was watching Lost Boys.

It is what it is Yo!
I saw Lost Boy's in the theatre's when it opened and it was huge.
Sure, it's dated now but I'd point at movie's like, oh let's see...
Buffy the Vampire Slayer
and hold my nose a lot faster than I would with L.B.

What it really comes down to is this (personal feelings aside):
Did it add anything to the Vampire genre'?
L.B.= YES- Big-time.
B.T.V.S.(The Movie)= No WAY Jose'.

This is probably a debate though that's better suited for a different thread so I won't be commenting about it here again...

Don't EVEN get me started on Twilight...😀

I saw it in the theatre at a friends request. She said it was so scary and (if i recall) "the greatest" I just laughed as everyone was screaming and jumping. It really ruined the whole movie for me. I just dont get it. I never have and I never will.

If you're going to put personal feelings aside you can say what you want about Twilight, but it sure added something new to the vampire genre.

So much for putting personal feelings aside...

I haven't read the books but as an example I'd say surviving in the sun is a pretty big change. Or maybe I just don't know the vampire genre very well. Which I actually don't so feel free to prove me wrong. It's good to learn something new.

twilight added epic failure :)
I said I was willing to put my personal feelings aside where L.B. was concerned.

Let's have a lesson then...
It was Bram Stoker who first wrote that the Vampire
"can move about by day but it is not their natural time and so they are weak." I'm not quoting the Movie here, that's from his book which was written in 1897.
Here's a quote from Wikipedia:
"Although Stoker did not invent the vampire, the novel's influence on the popularity of vampires has been singularly responsible for many theatrical, film and television interpretations throughout the 20th and 21st centuries."

There are a few things about Twilight that I find inexcusable.
The chief amongst these is their early campaign slogans of "A vampire in love with a human, it's never been done before." or some such nonsense.
Most of what Twilight did had already been done and most of that had been done better on Buffy and Angel.
Every generation needs to add to the Vampire mythos to some extent though so, I'll admit that Twilight has it's place...
It's just not a place I care to ever visit.

So much for me not posting in this thread again...🙂

I said I was willing to put my personal feelings aside where L.B. was concerned.

So you're putting personal feelings aside when it comes to a certain movie but not others. That seems fair... Explains a lot though.

Let's have a lesson then...

Thanks for the lesson. I'm not a huge or even big fan of vampires so my knowledge is very limited. Always good to learn new things. Starts a few new questions but I guess I better leave them for now.

I and I. So it is personal. Definitely explains a lot. It also mean that there's no point in continue a discussion since you use both a wider perspective and a narrow personal one when looking at two different things.

Now what about Charisma. I would never buy the dvd just to see the special feature but get it up online and I'll be sure to check it out. Sounds very nerdy but I don't care.
