Charisma Carpenter's likeness to appear in Charmed comics

Writer of Charmed Season 10, Pat Shand, recently said on tumblr:

"Now… if someone would please ask me about the Kyra scene I just wrote"

Charisma Carpenter portrayed Kyra in Charmed's seventh season; a demon who befriended the sisters, hoping to be made human, only to be killed by the season's big bad for her betrayal before she had a chance.

When asked about this, Pat replied:
"To write dialogue for a character played by Charisma is to hear Charisma in your head. Who would turn that down?"

So whether it be a flashback, a ghost or something else, it seems Kyra is coming back and Charisma Carpenter's image will be debuting in another comic book series.
My fingers are crossed for a bit of Charisma cover art, but that might be expecting too much.

I had no idea there were Charmed comics, I used to be very into that show several years ago and very well remember the character Kyra, but had no idea who Charisma was at the time so only put it together when I got into BTVS/Angel.
I enjoyed Krya, she was unique. The fact that she met an end almost as tragic as Cordy's is so messed up. It's nice to hear her character is being revisited.

For those interested, the episodes featuring Kyra are:
Season 7 Episode 3: Cheaper by the Coven
Season 7 Episode 5: Styx Feet Under (huh, I do not remember her in this episode and I have a pretty decent memory of this particular one)
Season 7 Episode 10: Witchness Protection

I really enjoyed Kyra too, she was a fun character, so it'll be good to have her back, even if it's just a one off. You could tell Charisma was having far too much fun with it haha 😛

Yep, I'd recommend them 🙂
For the most part they're very well written. In fact I personally think season 9 had the best writing Charmed had in a long while, it was a really strong season. We're 6 issues into season 10 at the moment.

To be honest, I wasn't a huge fan of Charmed's later years as a TV show. I liked s1-4 and then thought s7 was decent.
But the comics really take the best parts of the show and run with them.

For me the show was a guilty pleasure. I would say it was watchable, but after awhile they just ran out of ideas. I really watched it because of SD's involvement she was one of my first crushes😛

This is exactly how I felt. Like @VisionBoy seasons 1-4 were in my opinion the best quality and a few episodes of five and six were enjoyable enough but overall starting with the Wyatt storyline through to the series finale it got ridiculous and desperate. s7e10 'Witchness Protection' which is the episode of the three featuring her that actually focuses on Kyra (and is her final episode, where she dies) is highlight of season 7.

It's called See Jane Date, it's a romantic comedy. Didn't think it was great to be honest...pretty forgettable story, but some solid acting from Charisma and Holly (and to be fair, they were the only reason I bothered to watch it anyway)

Ah I might have seen a portion of that film. Oh crap I can't even remember if it was early last year or the year before but it was one of the two, when the first time I turned on the television on a particular day I was greeted by a close up of Charisma's face and I think it was that film, I remember the name Jane. I don't remember seeing Holly though.

It does sound to me a bit like one of those crappy cheese filled TV movie of the week type ones. I used to watch a bunch of them as a teen just to see hot Melrose Place stars (even though I would denay this to my older brother😉)

Must be a Hallmark movie because you pretty much just described a Hallmark movie, but I admit some are a guilty pleasure of mine, especially at Christmas time.

Pat posted a single frame preview of Kyra. He also said on Twitter that he was making notes on the lettered proof of issue 9 and that there was "A looooot of Kyra in this one"

I wasn't keen at first, but I'm actually quite happy with it. Saying that, it is just one panel, so maybe it'll improve as they draw her more.

Although I have kinda resigned myself to a "Well so long as I know who's who" attitude when it comes to comics based on TV shows.

I know I'm going to like it just based on that bit of dialogue. Can hear Charisma already 😛
