Are there any particular charities you regularly support or donate to?

I support/have donated to the Amyloidosis Foundation.
I'm currently fundraising for CRY (Cardiac Risk in the Young), we're doing a sponsored walk up 3 mountains in the UK after one of my close friends died from it.
I also support Cancer Research in any way I can.

There's lots more charities I'd love to donate to, but money/time constraints make it impossible.

I think British heart foundation is a good one. I would donate to cancer research but they are one of the biggest recognised charities around so I prefer to donate my money to something else. I have one charity every year that I give to and then I change it

I'm a member of my local Lions club (actually I'm President this year although I tend not to mention it unless it comes into the conversation!) and we raise funds for a lot of different causes. My main charity this year is the children's heart unit at my local hospital.

Susan G. Komen, I have have no family that ever fought breast cancer, but breast cancer is serious.

Nope, I don't have any money to spare at the moment. My parents donate regularly to Greenpeace and Amnesty though and every time I go to Glastonbury I donate to the Free Burma campaign.

I also adopted a donkey for my grandmother a few years ago. As soon as I get a steady income I'm going to start donating there again in her memory as she loved donkeys.

It sounds bad, but I've not really been 'brought up' to donate to charity. I volunteered for the British Red Cross for about a year, but had to stop when college started. I would rather volunteer than donate. At least I know my work was being put to use, but who knows what happens to the money that is donated?

I some volunteering and donating as I can. There are many that I donate to through my church, but outside of that I mostly donate money, supplies, toys, and treats to our local humane society.

Amnesty, any cancer research or guide dogs. Thats the 3 most important for me. Never something like 'help for heros' pffft.

I work at a childrens rights organisation answering emails young people write. When me and my husband have the money we support "friends", a anti bullying organisation. I buy our countrys version of "big issue" too. Those are the regular ones.

I think charity is important and can help a LOT, but it shouldn't replace the states welfare system. The state should be obligated to make sure their people have a reasonable living standard. It shouldn't be up to "kind people" to provide, it's a RIGHT all humans should have fulfilled. Sadly, that's not the case, which is why charity is important and needed.
