Charmed 2018

Crap it actually looks exciting. And I already love their advisor lmao sassy!

I hope it will be more sisterhood-centric. cause Charmed in their later seasons were all about their love lives dramas and that's just boring.

Ok, so A) I guess you don't need to watch the pilot because that trailer pretty much covered it 😛
B) It's Charmed with a Giles! 😀 Yay!
C) The actresses seem a bit... meh, but the overall look of it all and the new story for the sisters seems great to me! I will definitely give it a try if it comes to a streaming service around here. It looks like it could be silly fun just like the original Charmed!
 
I hate myself for actually thinking this looks good. I wanted to protest it, because I'm so mad that they didn't do some form of continuation of the original series since the OG cast wanted to come back. There were so many possibilities. I will give the new show a chance, but also will still hope it gets cancelled, so they can do something with the OG.

If it were to get cancelled though, do you think there's any studio that would want to bet on making something with the original cast? I mean, they mainly have their old audience to rely on, I think the hope here is to bring a whole new, bigger, fresh audience into the mix. If this fails, it might just be the death of Charmed all together, not a continuation of the original series.

Hope that this succeeds and becomes so popular that anything with the OG cast becomes a viable business venture instead, I'd say 🙂

In the minority here, but I found the trailer pretty hokey, the acting looks terrible and why would they cast two actresses who look almost exactly alike and then one who sticks out like a sore thumb? I know she's a half-sister, but even Paige fit in better with Phoebe & Piper than this chick with the other two.

Also, the "manor" is nowhere near as impressive as the Halliwell Manor and I think it's actually the same house used in Witches of East End?

I wish they'd made this a completely new show and not tried to capitalise on the original series. This show looks pretty crappy and I heard that CW passed on Wayward Sisters in favour of this, which is ridiculous.

I heard they passed on Wayward Sisters because the scripts were poor and the characters were lacking. Also it had more to do with the new spinoff of The Vampire Diaries than Charmed.
 
The acting seems cheap at some points but I will give it a try. The only thing is..why have they gone with a half sister right off the bat? Was it an excuse to introduce a non-white sister? I don't see why they didn't go with 3 biological sisters, that was a great dynamic in the original early seasons.
 
Nah not really one for me. If it hits its stride in a few seasons I might binge it one rainy day.

In regards to the CW and network promos, I miss most of the promotional stuff for shows and let them hook me with the content. Buffy promos were hokey too...

What is the new TVD spin off? I have never seen a promo for The 100 and might not have given it a chance if it was promoted as lame as this one looks.

I actually sadly agree with you 🙁 only the CGI looks better than the OG.

It’s probably fillers not Botox. Botox is for wrinkles and fine lines. 🙂

Thanks for the clarification 🙂. I still think it's awful.

And I notice that in many television series now there is always an actress who has her breasts redone, or ass, or who makes injections in the lips or elsewhere. To be natural is to ask too much. I really don't like this new mode. There are bimbos everywhere. And let's not talk about TV-reality, that's worst !
I think one of the reasons for the success of some of the 90s series is that actors and actresses were not redone of everywhere, they seemed natural and we could be identified to them.
 
I dont know if I'm just getting older so this is why I think this way, typical "back in my day" kinda thing but the sole reason I'm not much interested is because this generations actors have noooooothing on actors circa late 90s/early 2000s. granted, there are still good actors and shows now too but meh new shows just dont excite me like old ones.
That being said, I think I am one of very, very few who actually likes the idea of an old show coming back with the same premise with new actors and a different take on things. I think there are a lot of old shows that would be amazing done with new actors because the premise is just that amazing. like, i would LOVE someone to remake dollhouse! I love the premise of that show and feel like so much more could be done with the concept.
But, I digress.
All this to say, I dont particularly want to watch this not because of the story but because the actresses they chose just... dont entice me to watch? b level actors can lead to b level shows and just another teenage CW line up.

mid to late 90s and early 2000s was honestly the best for TV series. It has really declined since then.
