I really dont know... they are two shows that are both I guess under the same genre and there is alot of competition between them... especially with the fans... etc.. but i happen to be a charmed and buffy fan... not to mention angel and tru calling... i love all this supernatural stuff 🙂
 
same here...and i personally dont think either show is better. I watch them all. As stated earlier, I have a tendency to watch more charmed because there are newer episodes than buffy ones, as it is still airing. I mean, i still rewatch seasons 6 and 7 more than other seasons of Charmed because they are more fresh in my mind. Tho, Kyle gets on my nerves...a LOT...
 
lol... see Australia hasn't got season 8 yet..... which kinda sucks! I have always loved Buffy more ... but I really do love charmed!!! Either shows are 'better' than each other... you should'nt compare them.. but you can like one more than the other

Chasing Cordy, I'm gonna go with the masses and ask you what you're doing here. I understand the want to debate the merits of one show over another, but you went about it in completely the wrong way. Naming a thread 'Charmed better than BtVS and why' is only going to piss people off. Also, I believe you're going about your argument with the air of a child defending a beloved toy ['I like because I DO and the end'], which doesn't merit the discussion any except making us roll our eyes.

Honey, these are the Buffy Boards. Named that way for a reason. What you're doing is coming off as troll-like and annoying, and you're not going to get anywhere because of the people you're going to find at these aptly-named boards.

CC, why on earth would you go on a buffy forum and tell everybody that charmed is better? That's the equivalent of me going on a charmed forum and telling them that buffy's better. They're so loyal to charmed that they would come up with a bazillion reasons of how I'm wrong. But buffy is generally considered the better show in the scifi/fantasy community.

And just to throw in one little argument here . . .

Charmed has been nominated for 3 saturn awards (academy of scifi/fantasy/horror). Buffy has been nominated for 22 saturn awards and won 7 (best series (3 times), best actress (smg), best actor (jm, 3 times) & best supporting actress (ah)). Also been nominated for best series every year it was on.

Is this an april fool's joke? Would be freakin' hilarious if it is.
 
Is this some lame April Fool's Day joke? Cause ... I'm kind of drawing a blank as to why you would say that ... especially in a place like this. I don't have time to offer up a response. I'll just let the argument stand alone ... if you could even call it that.
 
It is April Fool's and I remember someone posting an AF's joke here last year. I'm not saying that it's a joke to like Charmed, I was just thinking about it because I just read an AF's article.
 
I have been a fan of Buffy and Charmed since they both started. I am a member of a Charmed forum as well as here, but I'm a realistic person and I know that Charmed Sucks... I still watch it and have enjoyed some of Season 8's episodes but I can see that they are no way as good as the first 3 Seasons episodes. Charmed lost it's creator and head writer Constance at the end of Season 3 that is going to affect the continuity of a show. BTVS is just better developed. I can't believe some of your arguments. They are so easy to argue against!

Vital Characters in Charmed are you sure you've watched the whole show... lets see how vital they are shall we!
Dan: Vital for Season 2 and a bit of 3 but still not that important he was only Pipers love interest! He's about as vital as Parker or Riley were to Buffy!
Gideon: Vital as the big bad in Season 6 is the master classed as a vital character in Buffy, cos if he is then Buffy's cast list in your opinion should have a few more people added to it.
Chris and Wyatt: (both future and normal time zone) They are not vital, they are just characters thrown in to affect the sisters decisions they don't have to be in the show!
Barbas: Come on he's been a character in what 4 episodes! Vital my ass!
Melinda: Vital to the storyline but not a vital character she has hardly had a large role in the show. It's like saying the first slayer is a huge character in Buffy!
Odin: Who the hell is Odin? I've seen every episode of Charmed and I can't remember him/her, so how is this character vital!
Sandra: Same as Odin.
Hannah, Rex, Zankou, Angel of Death, Avatars, Tempus: These are not vital characters they are the big bads of a season. You really need to look up what vital means.
Billie and Christy: Not vital again personally i wouldn't give Billie the time of day!

I'm curious to see how many of the folks here have watched all the episodes from both series all the way through.
I'm not counting Angel's show since I have not seen the whole thing.

I sounds to me like you guys watched one episode of the sister witches show and discounted it without knowing about it.

As I've already said I've seen every episode of both shows and not all at once but as they came out on TV. I think you have to start reading the comments in this thread as they do make sense and I think you'll find that if you go to a Charmed forum you will get similar answers... from most members anyway.
 
I was just wondering (not wanting to argue) as to why it's better to watch BtVS as it aired as opposed to watching it on DVDs after the series is over.
I have seen the same episodes as you all did, but the only difference is that I seen them in three months and not seven years.

How is it that one way of viewing (original airing) is better than the other (DVD viewing)?
