Charmed Season 9 ripping off Buffy Season 7

I liked the first few seasons. I also liked Chris, and though his plotline was a little silly--the future, really?--I enjoyed the emotional and personal complications there, with his parents not knowing him, trusting him or liking him. The actor could have been better (though he was adorable), but it was the first story on Charmed in awhile that really made me care about the character.

I think they were sloppy and lazy for the most part, but I think it had bright moments. And it was always very funny.

I personally am exicted to hear of a season 9 for Charmed! Does anyone know if it fallows Wyatt and Chris or if it is still going to be about the sisters? I have always been a huge charmed fan. my list of TV shows in order is
1)Buffy The Vampire Slayer
2)Charmed
3)Medium
4)Despriate House Wifes
5)Golden Girls
6)True Blood
7)Will and Grace
8)Hex
9)Queer as Folk
10)x-files

As for what is truly being talked about here I really dont think it is ripping off BTVS. they are moveing in innocents. Buffy moved in other slayers. She traid them to be warriors as well. So I think it will be diffrent and I am excited to see it

I actually love Charmed, it's one of my favorite shows and I like all the seasons. Yes, Charmed is similar to Buffy/Angel alot, but it's not a ripoff of any whedonverse shows at all. And I'm excited about season 9 of Charmed, and there's been several talks about doing a spinoff or movie of Charmed.

I'm really sick of everyone bashing Charmed. Yes, it was lesser in quality than Buffy. Maybe a lot of plotlines were similar, but how many storylines can two genre shows with female leads do differently? Really?

Being a Charmed or Twilight fan around Buffy fans isn't the easiest thing. Maybe there's even more and I'm just forgetting them. Please let me know if I do. Personally I don't know why they get so hated. Envy of the popularity? Because if you're gonna bash everything that's worse in quality than Buffy you'll pretty soon get tired from all the bashing you'll have to do. 😉

I only bash Twilight and Charmed when they copy Buffy. In my opinion this "New" comic series resembles season 7 of Buffy a little too much. Also... it is obvious that the writers have seen the success of Buffy season 8 and decided to cash in by making a new Charmed comic.
The one thing I liked about Charmed was the fact that it ended. Now I don't even have that...

"Someone...or something is hunting down the innocents" Is it Bringers?

"bring the remaining innocents back to the manor" Hey! This is like that time when Buffy brought all the remaining potentials to her house!

"the Source has returned and cast a spell turning every innocent in the entire city against them" Hey! This is like that time when the First returned! And also like the time when humans were turned against the Scoobies in season 8 of Buffy!

The Source returned? That might actually make me read these comics. Killing off the Source was the biggest mistake Charmed made IMO.

Good thing that Buffy is 100% original... If they're going to rip off something I prefer it if they rip off something good. Original ideas are hard to come by. Most often it's a spin on something that's already done. Sometimes they big public just don't know about it.

Avatar is being praised all over the place even if the story has been told loads of times before. Obviously people should bash that too.

If people don't like Charmed or Twilight that's fair enough. But often I don't buy the arguments or the noice they make about their dislike. It's often condecending.

Adam: This wasn't a direct responce to you even if I quoted you. It's how I feel about things in general.

I'm sorry, but Buffy is NOT 100 % original.

The idea of a heroine in horror HAS been done... I mean, Jamie Lee Curtis didn't take any shit from Michael Meyers in the Halloween series. IIRC, she knocked him out quite a few times. Sidney Prescott and Gale Weathers were the HBIC of horror in the 90's due to their driving forces in Scream. And, um, Xena?

You got that I was ironic right?
I won't say Charmed is as good as Buffy, but I like it. As a matter of fact I have been watching(not for the first time) both shows on DVD, alternating episodes.
I have thought about how great it would be if the Charmed Ones and the Scoobies were to team up. Certainly many times in Buffy7, they could have used a Whitelighter to do some healing!
Buffy was superior in physical fighting ability, the Charmed Ones in magical power.
Both teamed up to fight an even greater Evil that neither can face alone, what a great storyline that would be.

I didn't even know there was a Charmed season 9. 😛 I don't think there should be. Season 8 wasn't very good. Season 6 will always be my favourite.

I love Charmed as much as I love Buffy and am very excited that it's going to continue in comic form. We might know where the Charmed Ones end up, but we don't know how they got there and season 9 gives a chance to find that out. I think that both shows are unique and draw in their own audiences, sometimes the same audience. Me, being one of them. Some of the story lines pissed me off: Billy & Christy anyone? But I can say the same for some Buffy plot lines: killing of Anya for instance. Anyway, love both shows and am glad both are continuing and hopefully both will bring some top notch writing, Buffy already having done that.

Yeah, I hated Billy and Christie, but I do love Charmed. I was obsessed with it long before I'd heard of or watched Buffy, so I understand about the shows drawing in the same audience. In fact, it was probably because I liked Charmed that I decided to watch Buffy. Also, I wanted to see David Boreanaz because I never knew he was even in the show, let alone Angel who I'd heard about vaguely, until someone on a Bones forum mentioned it.Anyway, I believe both Charmed and Buffy are great shows for their own reasons. Definitely better than the Twilight saga.
