Charmed Vs Buffy

Okay, I get that a lot of Buffy fans do not like Charmed. And I get that you guys(the nonCharmed Buffy fans) have at least tried giving it a try. But if the show sucked THAT much, why would the WB have continued it for 5 years after the queen of charmed, Shannon Doherty left. (And, the sarcasm there does not in any way put down Shannon, it just puts down the fans who seem to think Shannon made the show. It was all 3 girls(plus rose) plus the other actors plus the crew, people!
 
Well you could have stuck in longer....every show of Buffy and Angel wasnt all peachy...i mean angel saving tbe random women.....sucks....no offense, but i still stuck in with him!

Truthfully? The show attracts the demographic that the WB wants (young female teens, for the most part) and it is extremely cheap to produce! That is how it survived for eight seasons when much better, but more expensive, series bit the dust. Financial reasons over quality programming.

Erm, nearly two years and the occasional episode since then isn't long enough to stick by a show?

CC*, if the writers of a series can't keep you entertained for a single episode in nearly two years then you don't stick with it any longer! That is just a ridiculous waste of your time. Buffy and Angel never once let me down in twelve seasons. That says all you need to know.

Don't forget the most powerful TV man in Hollywood, maybe the world, owns this show...Aaron Spelling. As long as the show is on, the WB have him in their grasps, getting first refusal of any new shows.....WB keeps him sweet, he makes them money
cheap to produce? They had to make budget cuts for the show to go on this season! Don't give me that. Brad had to cut Phoebe's levitation power because it cost too much to do every week. And there are other instances in which they had to cut down things to make budget.

oh, and i missed something in an earlier quote i debated.
episode when buffy can hear what everyones thinking is similuar to the epsiode primose empath when prue can feel everyones emotions/feelings and starts getting ill

-prue doesnt get ill, she goes crazy
-empathy is different than ESP
-prue had to overcome the emotions, buffy drank some blood of the demon
-prue thought she was saving an innocent, buffy was on patrol

Erm, just because they cut the budget this year doesn't mean that it wasn't a relatively cheap series in the first place. As far as genre series go, Charmed is very cheap indeed.

The budget was cut this year as a way to justify the renewal of the show for another season against the fact that ratings were steadily declining. If they hadn't agreed to cut the budget then there would be no season eight. Simple as that.

Basically, a cheap show just got made even cheaper! What does that tell you?

Charmed is very cheep, it always have been. The monsters and special effects have never been that good.
