Chat Night!

Ok.... There have been loads of happy threads going round lately about getting to know other members and such like. And on one of them Old Master 2.0 suggested that we use the chat function to... well... er... get to know each other better. I thought this was a great idea but noone seemed to pay attention to it. So I thought I'd butt in and make a suggestion regarding this.

Here's the thing... we're not always on line at the same times so it makes it kinda difficult to speak to each other. So I thought it might be a good idea to choose a night, or a couple of nights when we will all make time for a little chatting. e.g. Monday nights... chat night... or tuesdays or everyday. I don't know. But I thought it would be a perfect way of getting to know each other and then everyone can feel ok about PMing people and such like.

Any more suggestions?

I think its a great idea elmo 😀 The only problem is all of our time differences...I'm usually on between 9:00a.m. - 5:00 p.m. EST while I'm at work during the week. I don't know exactly how that equates with everyone elses' time zones 😀
 
Well, lets say a bunch of people go online and chat on a monday night.... there's bound to be people in the same timezone as people. I don't know. I'm confusing myself. lol
 
I think a "Chat Day" might work better...like one day a week when we should all try to stop by the chat for a little while on our own schedules 😀
 
Yeah, sounds like a good idea. I can probably fit it in easier during the day. 😀 I never thought of it because people have school and work and such like. But then there's the time difference. I guess it might work out. 😀
 
hows about people hang about in the chat room instead of just leaving cos knowone else is there when somone else comes in 5 min later and does the same thing

Going to agree with you there...I mean I can open up two IE windows at once..I'm sure many of you can do the same...leave the chat window open and surf around the web or BB as you normally would....
 
COOL I have always wanted too chat with mebers in the chat but no one has ever been there, I hope we organise a day! 😀😀😀
 
Yeah... Most of you people are in UK or something... Like when I was playing the game threads (a lot), I noticed that most of the people I play with get on around 1AM here and by than I need to sleep...
 
Mondays are cool for me...I'm off of work when the school year starts and will have more time to be online than any other day of the week.

Thats what I used to do when the chat was getting used. That way you don't have to set up a special time or day (which you can if people want that).

The only thing that we ask is that you don't have tonnes of posts with 'i'm in chat right now' as that took over the boards previously.
 
I'll look into it, I know there used to be a 'users in chat' function but not sure if that works on this version of the boards.
 
Naw it doesn't. I could try and get it to work but I'm not sure since the board and chat are on different domains.

Oh sorry missed Cordy's post here lol - yeah I can do that 😉
 
Oh I see how it is, now that Faith's back we're all invisible 😛 J/K

Atleast if we have that option for the status it might avoid some of the "I'm in Chat" spamming...
