OK, so a friend of mine recently had their partner cheat on them.

Now, my personal stance is that cheating on someone you love is one of the worst things you can do, but i want others opinions.

For the set up, my friend is a female, i say friend, i'm not her biggest fan, i was better friends with her BF(long story).
Well on a recent night out, he cheated all the way with someone else and that is something that really upsets me.
That someone could do that.

So, i want to know peoples thoughts on this one, or if they have been cheated on or indeed the cheater.
What goes through your head?

Ohh, i should also point out, the BF cheated on his GF with a GUY!.

I honestly am really really agianst it... i hear alot of younger people say well they dont wanna be serious and its ok to have like 3 bf's or 3 gf's whatever, Ever since i was 13 i've been into serious relationships i'm just not the kinda person to cheat on someone and all that i take things seriously i've been cheated on a few times and i know how it feels... I dont get it i mean someone works so hard to get with you then decides to sleep with some bimbo who shakes her @ss at them. or she desides to sleep with some playa who has a nice 6 pack whatever lol... I mean i think if you know you dont want something serious or you just want a friends with benefits thing or whatever you want you should discuss it with the person your getting with first.. i mean whats the worst that person can say no thanks i wanna be exclusive? No big deal if you didn't really wanna be exclusive with the person in the first place no harm done cept you dont get a new notch in your bed post.... Hope your friends not too distraught over it or how ever its spelled... and if so hope she feels better 🙂

Well I have been both the cheater and the cheatee.

Getting cheated on was awful. Obviously. But didnt stop me doing the same to other boyfriends. However Im not gonna try and justify myself in anyway because its not like you would understand where I was coming from anyway.

The point is, I would never cheat now. IVe been there done that, and it wasnt what I wanted.

My best friend was recently cheated on and I havent been that mad in a long time.

Call me a hypocrite if you like, but thats just how I am.

Cheating on someone is not good and there is no excuse for it!
I know that sometimes it just happends and you can't control who you fall for but it is what you do with those feelings that count.

Re:

I'm assuming this was not an "open" relationship. BOTD I think you know what I mean by that. So I'll say that I personally don't tolerate cheating. If you have a partner that is ready and willing then there should be no need for it. I know you hear that "It just happened" rif alot, but everyone has a choice. And I believe it is possible to love someone without being IN LOVE with them....so in this case I would say the man should take a step back and think about weather or not he is TRULY in love with this girl. And my advice to her is to be strong and let him go. It's pain or pride for her at this point- and cheating is a ghost that never goes away......

As I don't have the best track record...i don't have much to say, sometimes people screw up. Alcohol isn't an excuse though. There really isn't an excuse. And if you love the person you cheated on, and just had a moment of really, excessively poor judgement, then you get to live with their decision about what happens next. You admit being wrong, and take the consequences.
i just have one question about what you said NSlayMode...you said, if they could get it from their partner, then there was no reason...but what if they can't...does that make it okay? Just wondering cause of how you phrased it.

Re:

I realized that myself after I typed it. And maybe I'm a bit harsh, but I still don't think that's any excuse to go elsewhere. It's completely different if the couple in question have a totally open relationship and that kind of thing is permitted. But there's other methods of finding your "O" if you can't get it from your partner. You know what they say- If you can't get it done right- DO IT YOURSELF.
Keep in mind kiddies, these are only my opinions- Everyones entitled to their own. Don't hate me because I have a big mouth...LOL

I have never cheated on anyone, and I honestly don't know if I've been cheated on.

But, as I see it, every situation is different and why people cheat can depend on anything. For example if they're having a really rough time in the relationship they're in, if they're not feeling loved/appreciated but can feel that from someone else, etc. Why I'm saying this is because those things can make it understandable. I can understand why someone would cheat, and even though I can't see myself doing that, it's not like all people who cheat are "bad" people.

Having said that "“ it's always wrong to cheat. Of course it is. If you don't feel good in the relationship you're in "“ talk about it, figure stuff out, or take a break, etc. Cheating is obviously never the right thing to do. None of the explanations that I can see, are in any way an excuse. But there are still things that'd make me understand (maybe not as a partner, but as a friend to someone who cheated).

Re:

I agree not all people who have cheated are bad people. I guess it may have sounded like that in my last two rants...lol....I just tend to take these types of questions to heart a little too much. I've always been the one been cheated on. When I was younger I used to forgive just to hold the relationship together...but there was never a day after that that was the same. The subject came up often and it just made the whole point of even having a relationship unclear. I got to a certain age and, after been cheated on so much, something snapped. Now my instincts would be to get up and get gone. No matter what the circumstances. And even though I stand by everything I said, I DO NOT think all people who cheat are bad people.

*And once again they stand back and marvel over how BIG her mouth really is*

sexy...yet....dishonest....but still majorly sexy....if i had a bf that cheated on me with a guy, i'd throw up...but....sexy (and there, ladies and gentlemen, was the incoherent babbling of a teenage ****up! Enjoy!)

i dont believe a person that really loves someone, would or could cheat on them. sure you can say it was a "moment of weakness" or "poor judgement" or whatever you want ...but my stance on it is, once a cheater-always a cheater. i have 0 tolerance and 0 room for forgiveness for people like that. there is no possible reason and no possible excuse you could give me to believe otherwise.
