Is it just me, or did anyone else want to see more of cheese guy for "Restless"? Maybe just randomly showing up in the background somewhere... Who knows...

I kinda thought that it would have been hilarious for us die-hard Buffy fans to just look in the background of say the bronze and see a guy holding a plate of Cheese slices later on.

Your thoughts?
 
I think it would have been creepy, to have him out of the dreams, and don't think it would have work within the more serious tones of seasons 5-7
 
He was creepy, but really funny. At least to me anyway. And I think that he cold have been randomly placed somewhere in season 5. It wasn't as dark as it is in the later seasons. Plus its not like the cheese guy has to have a line or anything. Just randomly walking in the background.
 
It was a long time I saw Restless now, but in my head the cheese guy kind of looks like the dean in the series "community". I wish it was him. 😀
 
I never put much thought into the cheese guy; but it could have been funny to see him hidden in the background somewhere else.
 
The idea of the cheese guy was to show that all their dreams were linked and thus, they all shared a common tribal subconsciousness. Note the shock when Buffy finally says:

BUFFY: Ah... (Gets up) Well, at least you all didn't dream about that guy
with the cheese. (Walks off.)
(The others look up in surprise.)
BUFFY: (offscreen) I don't know where the hell that came from.
(The other three look at each other.)

And of course, the whole idea of Restless was that they could kill off Adam an episode early and with it, the whole steaming pile that was the Initiative.
 
Ahh, cheese guy! Yea, I dunno... I don't think it would have made much sense for him to appear in subsequent episodes. I loved him, though! 😀
 
I think it would have been funny to just catch a glimpse of him in the background perhaps holding his cheese. Or maybe not, but it would have been great just for the close watchers to spot the cheese guy! I love little moments like that, and hey if he was walking around Sunnydale as a regular guy maybe that explains why he was in their dreams, because they all saw him around Sunnydale but never really thought about him, he was just a glimpse that worked his way into their subconscious! I would have liked to have seen him again though, definitely, even if it doesn't make sense!
 
Isn't there a flash of the cheese guy during one of Andrew's dreams in Season 7? Though unfortunately it's just a re-used scene from Restless. They should have brought him back and filmed a new cameo.
 
Someone asked Joss at the premier for Much Ado here in Dublin if he the cheese wore him or he wears it.
He mentioned that it was just meant to be a Man in the Iron mask reference, where he says "I wear the mask, it does not wear me"
