The Chernobyl disaster is the first major event outside my own country I can consciously remember. Suddenly, we children were told not to stick our tongues out to catch drops when it rained.

My son was asking me about this yesterday. I had to explain to him what happened, how it happened and showed him what it looks like now. He seemed really interested in it.

That place looks really creepy now.
