This book is written by Christopher Golden and Nancy Holder.

The storyline is very interesting. It addresses a few poitns from the show, like Buffy running away at the end of season 2 and how Xander's parents tend to not notice him. Its set in season 3 when Cordy and Xander are still dating. I like the theme, Buffy gets to fight Robin Hood and King Richard 🙂 Its basically about Dark Faerie and the Wild Hunt they go on. It has some fasinating insight into Lucy Hanover, who is a slayer from the past. She has been mentioned in the Book of Fours book.

The things that arent the best again are that the characters dont always match what they are in the show. In my opinion Giles, Oz and Willow come off really different. They also imply that Xander and Cordy are sleeping together, which we know never happened.

There are some excellent character quotes though that do match the characters in the show, like the Giles and Xander comment:
Giles: We British are not as litigious as you Americans.
Xander: Which is why you lost the war.
Giles: Which war?
Xander: The one....that you lost

Has anyone else read the book?

Oh man, I read this when I was, like, 9. I don't remember any details, only that it felt really dark to me. I was obsessed because it was Buffy merchandise. It was probably the first big novel I had ever read; it was long. It was fun, I know I still have it in my collection. Oh, also, that book made me question whether or not Lucy was an actual person and the Buffy lore was based off the mystery surrounding her ... My imagination is/was vast. Maybe a nostalgia read is in the horizon, thanks for mentioning it, totally forgot about it.

I love reading back over stuff I used to love.
Yes, I read it! But it was year's ago :S so I don't really remember any details, but I do remember enjoying it, I wish I remembered the details sorry 🙂

Gonna disappoint you again, Jules, but no!
I like the sound of this one more though!

I'm actually the same as you, I probably wouldnt buy these books now, but I got them about 10 years ago. Its just that I've finished watching all the Buffy episodes so I'm just reading a few of the books before I start watching the Angel series 🙂

I bought loads on amazon about 6 months ago some of them were only a penny with £1.50 postage. It's good really because you can't get them at the library anymore.

I have this but I've never read it.

Excellent that you mention Book of Fours, though -- that was an fantastic novel!

If you have the books, or can get them really cheap I'd say there worth reading. There are things that happen in the books that cant be shown on tv and not just for cost reasons; in this book Buffy stakes a 12 year old boy because he's been turned into a vampire, that's not been done on the show before.
