So what things do people on here do to chill out and relax after a busy week?

Any preferred music for chilling out, or any rituals you go through to get your mind off things?

I like to do many different things, like watching certain programmes, listening to certain types of music etc.. but I find the best thing to do is just to dance for a while, even if its just on my own, I find it really releases tension in my body and helps me to forget about things that were stressing me out during the day.

Here's a clip from friends I love of some of the dance scenes in it:

I watch Glee or put The Smiths on really loud and bounce around my room.

Not that I have very many weeks that I can call 'busy' these days 😛

For me it's normally the Offspring, but the Smiths are okay :)
The most relaxing thing to me is being able to listen and sing along to some good music. In the mornings, after I get my oldest off to school, I will turn on music softly and listen while I drink my coffee and surf BB. It's a great, relaxing way to start my day.

Singing along to music's good to, I did karoke once with my sister and we did the queen song don't stop me now
I'd forgotten about the Smiths, I always remember the song they did that's the theme tune of charmed, that's a really good song:

Listen to music, read interesting stuff online or just sit outside. All of them also work together, haha. 😛

Oh and watching funny vids on Youtube! Laughing is relaxing. 🙂

Spending time with my husband-to-be is really all I need!
When I'm home alone?
Playing with the dog, listening to music, (but not anything that I am currently rehearsing/performing because that is way too stressful), eating chocolate, going to the gym (mostly to make up for said chocolate), glass of wine, watching this really fun show that I think you guys would like, (judging from some of the things I've read on here) called Buffy the Vampire Slayer. 😀

I get on here. I listen to music. I write. I watch TV. All of these things are relaxing to me... but the most relaxing thing is when I have the house all to myself... I "play pretend." I call it acting now because I'm older and "playing pretend" is something you do when you're little... but whatever you want to call it, I do it. Sometimes I play out a random situation of someone else living their daily life and I create a character for myself. Sometimes I do me in the future, how I want my life to be. Sometimes I do me in the past, how I wish I would have done something. Sometimes I do me and someone else I want to say something to but can't. It's all very therapeutic and relaxing. And super fun too!

Although typically when I say that people think I'm pathetic and shouldn't do that because it is essentially playing pretend and I'm almost 20. But I think it's perfectly fine and healthy.

Doppelgang agrees: It shows you've got a good imagination, I used to do all sorts of crazy things too when I was younger and had the house to myself
I've always prided myself in my good imagination. I hope it never stops. I want to eventually be a showrunner and you kinda need good imagination and creativity to do that.

I LOVE YOU! I DO THAT TOOO!! This post made me smile. I do it with Tiff also and we play characters opposite each other. Sometimes we create them or sometimes we play the characters from a show or movie (mostly Buffy)
Watch Buffy lately.... when it's nice out I go to the beach (like everyday during summer) and read. If I need to "blow off steam" I kickbox - by the time I'm done I am way too tired to be angry anymore😀

I often get online, I do most things online. Sometimes I'll watch loads of different videos on YouTube. Sometimes it'll be one of my celebrity 'spirit animals' (Emma Stone and Taylor Momsen). I can watch Taylor Momsen and The Pretty Reckless videos for a whole day.

I also listen to Taylor Swift music or I talk to Zoe (great) or I write this roleplay fanfiction I've been writing. Or else I roleplay, or I do what Zoe does! I ACT! I don't really tell people about it because I get the weirdest looks but when I'm alone in my room (I'm sure my parents have heard me by now) I put some of my characters I've created or myself into a situation. I pretty much improvise things and it's so much fun. I play all the characters which is kind of funny to be completely honest. And when my sister is around she will act with me. We play against each other and it's a great experience 'cause my sister's such a good actress.

I also sing, make videos or I'll watch TV.

I usually sit down and watch one of my tv shows that I watch or go online. When I need to chill out / relax.😀

If it's warm enough but shadow on my balcony it's nice to sit there after work, have ice tea or a beer and listen to music. Opera works very nicely. The bits I love at least. Otherwise sitting in the shadow under a tree, listening to music and watch the world.

A nice bath and a book/relaxing music can do wonders as well.

As for just spending time I watch shows. Way too many shows.

I love to go up to the park near my house and just swing with my music on full volume and make sure nobody else is there so I can sing my heart out. Even if someone else IS there, I normally do it anyway.

I used to do that before they destroyed the park
