i think we should go with Occam's Razor on this one by theorizing that the graphic designer who put together the skin for the box set probably wasn't a buffy fan and therefore left out some key figures. :🙂:

this isnt to say that im not upset that anya wasnt on it.

I think Anya got a rough deal period. The way she was killed off was poor, the aftermath was pathetic...I mean all Xander said was 'That's my girl'. And then she's not on the box set. But with what N4H said, maybe it was more circumstance than any real 'Tara is more loved than Anya'.

Oh, and Keanoite, I had the first 3 seasons of Buffy on tape, bought and paid for, along with the stand alone episodes of Welcome to the Hellmouth/Harvest and Surprise/Innocence, all in a nice Buffy cassette which were released in 1998 and then went out and bought all 7 season of Buffy in the Chosen boxset 🙂
 
I liked Tara I mean she was okay and everything, not my favorite but I liked her.
But Anya is just so much more a part of the show. Seriously imagine it without her!
Tara is very unique and special and no one could replace her but-- if there was no Tara
Willow still would have probably had her first girlfriend who possibly gets shot by Warren.

But its not every day that an 1124 year old demon comes about who is funny, quirky, smart,
beautiful, and has an odd fear of bunnies. Not that Tara wasn't quirky, but Anya was just a
bigger character in the buffyverse and deserves that spot more than Tara. :nod:

ive wondered this for a while too. especially, as was already mentioned in this thread, when spike was in one episode in season 3 and still got a spot on the season 3 discs! anya was very important. even if you think she was just there for comic relief, or tara was cooler, or whichever, the way she influenced xander's life, combined with the length of time she was kept on the show should speak enough of her important role. i always assumed it was the way n4h said it. im curious, though, does anyone have a source that knows if thats the case?
 
I don't think it has anything to do with the show. Emma probably just couldn't make it to the photoshoot for the box set or something along those lines...I doubt it has anything to do with who the most significant character is. Plus, she's on the front of the disc sets for seasons 4-7, so there you are.

As for Faith being on there...well, maybe she had Slayer priority. Or maybe they were just putting the most attractive beets in the front because, well, those are the money beets (just had to throw a reference to The Office in there 😉.)
 
Okay about which box is this cause I have a box with spike, xander, dawn, willow and anya on it. No Buffy and no Tara or Faith.. Buffy herself is only on the inside dvd boxes.
Can someone show me a pic about the box you guys are talking about.
