CHOSEN pt2: chapters 18 - Epilogue / conclusion discussion

I couldn’t read for a while, then I open my app and they’ve changed the whole layout! Gah, very confusing.
Anyway, I’m on chapter 26 now and, I have to say, I am really going to struggle with any kind of ”redemption” story for Artemis. I am so annoyed with her and her ”waaah I don’t have any powers, poor me, I can’t accept that you’re the Slayer Nina”.
Whenever she talks I’m like, can we get rid of her? Thanks.
Of course that would crush Nina, but still.
I liked the Buffy dream and her saying that somethings you just have to survive, not fight.

I agree on Artemis - pretty sure I liked her better in the first book.
I just finished so spoilers if you haven’t read until the end.
I’m a little annoyed thatthey re-used the “parent is a demon” thing, and the “betrayed by someone we’ve known our whole lives” thing. Would have been nice for her to write something new for this one. Having said that, I did enjoy the ending and the book as a whole. And I’m interested to find out who the slayer is.

I thought this was some new slang at first. "Hey man, did you see that programme last night?" "Yeah, man, that was ice" I was already starting to get excited at my new vernacular when I realize you probably just missed the n. Now I feel disappointed. Feeling disappointed is not ice.
Ugh, I am so annoyed that the author went the full "you don't know what it is like not to have powers, I was always the bad-ass now you're the powerful one and POOR me because I AM THE ONLY ONE who can save the world" play with Artemis. She is the least relateable and likeable character in this story yet somehow the main story arc is actually her story. But the only glimpses of her perspective are really short, shallow, and narcissistic so I just ended up hating her and her need to be important and to "fix" everything out of delusions of grandeur.
If the intention was for her to go down this path and to be redeemed, her passages should've been longer and more interesting. If she goes far, far away for the next book I guess it could be ok, because I was not cool with the quick wrap up at the end where the reader is supposed to get over her bullshit because Imogen was worse?
As a while to book was ok, much better than the last one, if Artemis had died it would've transcended ok and become a good book. Once I've forgotten parts of this plot I'm sure I'll be ready to forgive and forget and pick up the next book however.
