Christmas Day episode of Doctor Who

Well, what a disappointment!

Dr Who just didn't do it for me tonight. The whole storyline seemed to drag, and the overall story was too great and complex to be easily fitted into an hour.

As for Peter Capaldi's entrance, what a total let down.

The whole thing came across as Moffatt having one of those moments where he thinks his writing should dominate at the expense of everything else, and in the end Capaldi became a mere after thought or so it seemed.

Not one of the BBC's best episodes of Who, come back Russell T. Davies, all is forgiven!

Haha, that's never going to happen! 🙂

I wasn't that excited about the storyline. Too convoluted. Or perhaps too simple, and I was making it to more complicated lol. I did like Matt Smith's ending. Loved that actually, and I cried when Amy came on screen. I liked Peter Capaldi's first moments, but definitely didn't like the regeneration. In general, it definitely left us hanging, and season 8 is way too far away.

So as a farewell, it nailed it for me. As a story, not so much.

It's almost as if Moffatt were trying to squeeze in tie-ups for all the loose ends that the series has created since Smith took over and failed miserably given that he only had an hour to tell the tale - two would have been more appropriate, possibly more.

The thing with the crack, doing what it did (not going to spoil it too much for those that haven't seen the ep yet) was okay I guess, sort of - but again, ultimately, a bit of a let down. A nice enough idea granted, but really?

I could go on, but I don't want to give too much away and spoil things, so I shan't.

I was definitely disappointed with how they handled the name of the Doctor. That was built up to be such a huge thing. It was a let-down.
