It just occurred to me that it's only 30 days until Christmas, and I was wondering what your plans are. (Or Hanukkah if you're Jewish, or any other holiday that you celebrate around the end of the year)

As has been our custom for the last 6 years, our family celebration pretty much centers around which day and weekend that our son has custody of our granddaughter. The last week preceding Christmas, our church has a live Nativity scene that we stand in at least one night, and, of course, we eat way too much food at my sister's home and my wife's brother's, with our Sunday School class, and finally culminating in an "After Christmas" party with friends, which gives us the opportunity to get rid of all of the holiday leftovers.

(All of which makes "I will cut back on my food intake" the top of our list of New Year's resolutions.)

Me and my brother will open our presants, and then I'll watch a lot of Christmas movies - I hope they are going to put Home Alone and I saw my mom kissing Santa Claus once again. Then around 3 p.m, after Christmas lunch, I'll watch Amends, as I do for years now 😀 Then I'll get ready for party because my parents are hosting it. That reminds me, I have to buy a perfect dress 😀

My brother, his wife and their 2 sons (ages 9 and 6) will be coming up from Virginia for Christmas. My parents usually have a Christmas Eve "open house" with buffet for family and friends. I'll spend the night at my parents' and we'll be up at the crack of dawn Christmas morning opening presents. Mom makes a big breakfast, and then we lay around and play with our toys until it's time for dinner.

I'm taking the week between Christmas and New Year off from work, and we'll be doing various day trips and things with my brother and his family.

Bought my tickets in good time for christmas. Will go back "home" for 3 days, arriving the 23rd. In Sweden the big christmas celebration is on the 24th. Have chrismas dinner at noon in my parents house with what's left of the family. My niece won't be with us until the day after since she spends christmas day with her dad this year. After dinner just a lot of relaxing. Kids and some grownups usually watch Donald Duck (and his friends celebrating christmas) for an hour in the afternoon. Probably sounds silly to you but it's a huge thing over here. But since my niece isn't here I can't be sure that we'll watch it since my counsins for some strange reason just get older each year. 😉 And they might think that they're too old. Some time after that people starts going home but those who stay opens christmas gifts. Even if there isn't many left. We've more or less stopped giving each other gifts. We just give to the kids while the adults put together money and donate to a charity instead. My idea and it seemed to have worked out well. This will be the third time we do that. Me or my dad don't miss going shopping for gifts but I think my mum and at least one of my sisters kind of miss it. But both of them kind of stress a lot during this time of year anyway so I don't feel bad about it. The 25th it's a small christmas lunch at my gran but other than that it's just a day to relax. And the day after I'll be going home. And that'll be christmas for me.

The christmas dinner is Julbord. A smörgåsbord but since it's at christmas we call it something else. And we drink a lot of Julmust. Coca cola as you all probably know make a big thing with christmas with their commercials and all but in Sweden it's like this. "In Sweden, julmust outsells Coca-Cola during the Christmas season. In fact, the consumption of Coca-Cola drops by as much as 50% over Christmas."

wow hmmm... 30 days away seriously I have no plans yet really. I mean I imagine they're probley going to be like they always are which means that Christmas morning Jon, Jonathan and I will open up presents at home then we will go with Jon's dad (who only comes up on christmas) to his brothers house for christmas brunch with a huge lot of people I can never keep straight which I feel bad about but I only see them once a year and funny enough Jon doesn't even remember half their names and their his family. Either way its always fun to see them, after that we'll probley end up home about 2 or so and then we'll end up eating some dinner and thats pretty much the it of my christmas plans

So yeah I guess the only difference for my plans is that home wont be where i am now but living with Jon and his mom since my mom is moving to Ohio before xmas which really sucks but oh well we'll join her soon after.

My family use to get together every year and open gifts and have dinner. But not this year because my family is fighting. So were not having a christmas or decorating..So the only thing i got planned is watch buffy..

Christmas is still a month away so now concrete plans. Usually I just go to my folks and I am hoping that will be the case this year. I miss my mom.

Usually, I sleep in and open presents in the afternoon. Hahah. Then, at night, I will probably go to a party and/or hang out with my boyfriend (by Christmas, our one year will be five days afterwards!)

LOL same, i don't wake up until last minute. lmfao. then party (SW)
I'm going to see my family. I just moved out of my dad's appartment to a city 5-6 hours away, so I hope I can be there for at least 2 weeks.

I LOVE CHRISTMAS!!! 🙂 Best time of the year. Everybody is so happy! It'll be just the same old bore, the family supper and such. We have no traditions or interesting things. hehe. I'm doing the whedonverse ornament exchange on Buffyfest though! Anybody else?

I adore christmas. We do pretty much the same thing every year; though nothing too exciting. On christmas eve, my parents generally start the christmas cooking, and if I can be bothered I sometimes help out. Then we usually go to see my parents friends to exchange presents, and stay there an hour or two whilst they talk our ear off. We then either go to see my Grandma for a while, or pick her up to bring her to our house (She used to stay with us every year, but she's really old and ill now, and thinks it's too much hastle), and then we go home. We always, always have lasagne for tea on christmas eve, and we tend to sit and watch something christmasy and random on the tele while we eat. Then I go upstairs and watch Amends (C'mon, I have to do something Buffy-ish over the holidays), and read christmas books 'til I go to sleep.

On christmas morning I wake up at about five - it'd be earlier, but my parents refuse to get up before then - and spend the morning opening and inspecting presents, until my brother gets up at about 11, and my sister, brother-in-law and niece come, for presents and christmas dinner. We spend the afternoon playing games (Like trivial pursuit and stuff, not...Whatever other kinds of games), and messing around with presents, and my brother, sister and I make a buffet-type dinner. That's about the it, but I adore christmas, despite the fact we never do anything that's actually interesting; just a good ol' family christmas.

Wow, I didn't even realise how quickly Christmas was coming up! I'd better get my shopping going!

Anyway, I don't have any extended family (it's just my parents, two brothers girlfriend and I), so that usually means a less hectic holiday season for me. I actually end up working a lot when coworkers are visiting family, which is a nice toss-up since that means I also can enjoy the luxury of Christmas Eve off. 🙂 So every Christmas Eve the whole family takes the night off, we take family photos and goof around before settling in to our Christmas Dinner-- often enjoyed on paper plates, so that nobody is stuck with post christmas dinner dishes!

After dinner and dessert are through, we head downstairs and all open one gift each. Spending the rest of the night watching Christmas movies (or, if you're my older brother, taking off to the bar for a couple hours😉). The next day we all set a time to wake up and open gifts, then spend Christmas lounging around the house-- or working as the case is some years. Then boxing day my girlfriend heads out of town to visit her family, and comes home in time for us to have some kind of a new year's bash.

Maybe that's a lot of detail for a Christmas plan, but I've only got plans for the two days! Otherwise it's business as usual, with some additional baking involved!

Well, at Christmas 24 december i have birthdays and at 25 december i celebrate my name "Christie"...I'll sit here, with my family and friends. After few days i'll go for 4days i'll visit a friend 😉

Yaay, it's Christmas, the time of the year when we get presents for doing nothing and reluctantly spend money and effort on others who are important to us instead of giving up just some of our luxuries so that the poor can afford to eat something! Plus omnom, all those delicious turkeys!
I'm sorry, I don't like xmas. At all. It's just like Easter but worse.

Haha, total Scrooge, but for good reason. 🙂

I don't have much planned for Xmas really, it's just the same every year, i don't get up until last minute to open pressies.
I always know like months before Xmas what I've ready got, ha! My mum cannot keep anything secret 😛
It'll just be me, mum, little sis, big sis+ her bf, and my little niece Katie, Plus my gran will pop over cos she lives like two doors down 😛 ha.

I'll end up just playing any x box games that i get 😛
I never really have a proper good time to game much,ha, eh my mum will be cooking stupid turkey or something. YUCK. eh then we'll have a big game of monoply, it's like our weird tradition, because we are all so competitive! haha! The longest we've ever played is 8 hours! ( we play until the end) plus the Star wars one is extra longer!- anyhoo after that I'll probably go round to see all my friends, possibly have a sleepover then end up drinking myself to sleep.

good ol' Christmas 🙂
probably go ice skating on Christmas eve with all my friends too.

That dreaded "recession" word is going to have an impact on my Christmas plans this year. Usually I have to buy around 10 presents. This year it's just one, all my family are trying to save money. So we picked names out of a hat. I have to buy for my sister. I never thought it would be so hard to buy just one present, 10 is actually a lot easier. At least if I messed up her pressie any other year, she has other presents to make up for it. Nope, this year If I buy her a piece of crap, she's stuck with just that piece of crap. Gulp.

I have no idea yet what we're doing for Christmas. I don't know if we'll go home to see family, since our Thanksgiving trip sucked so bad, or if we'll make them come here. We'll see...

I'd hoped to be able to go home to Puerto Rico for Christmas this year, I haven't been in 4 years 🙁 But its not gonna pan out, I'll be going early March instead. So for Christmas I'll probably have to work Christmas Eve and Christmas Day I'll go to my best friend's family's house, eat hang and be merry. Her family is awesome and they always take me in holidays, we have a good time.
