Christmas Preparations

Booked an Asda delivery slot every week up until Christmas . 🙂 Got two down for Christmas week ...will cancel the later one quite soon if there's no weirdy lockdown food shortages .

I'll also hope to get a delivery for the 30th of December too . It's a great holiday insurance policy , been doing it for a few years now . I can buy a bit more of what is going down well ...refill my staples and hibernate for a few weeks into 2021

I was pretty much prepared for lockdown anyway . My oldest dog has decided now is the time to die . Might have to get her put to sleep next week if she don't go naturally . It's a shame ...but she had a massive stroke two years ago so the last 700 odd days have just been golden miracle days for us . 🙂

It does mean I'll be able to go out more over Christmas . Also can have a bit more festive drink at home coz I don't have to keep my crap together for the old girl . I haven't had much of a social life since she had the stroke , but enjoyed every minute of the extra time with her .

Think of Samhein (?) the Celts version of Halloween, when the dead have access to our world until the first day of Spring.

Sorry, not sorry, but still too early for all that. 😏

2020 is a weeiirdd year. I am so not in the holiday spirit for any holiday this year! So nope.. no Christmas preparation on my end yet. Almost dreading it a little.. always so much to do.

Yeah...me too. I think it was a case of "reading the room"...or waiting for the denial and expecting the customary u-turn.

Been there. Commiserations.

Okay...here's my Covid Christmas Song. Note: Wildlife colonizing locked-down streets. People socially distanced. No big family get-togethers. Those refusing to keep to the rule of 6 4 2 hiding on the roof from Covid Marshalls/Police/Army. "It's been a long hard year... We live in troubled days". Downloading it today. My only concern is by limiting Christmas to one day Freddie sounds a lot like Bozo the Clown the Prime Minister

Oh why would anyone complain that Nix has begun to mention Christmas so early.
When officially it was the underlying voices from where Halloween comes from (hell).
Lest you not be aware that on his one day off a year Satan is Santa!
So don't be surprised when next week when one of out flock of members tells us that the Damned will celebrate the day they released him back to the world, Easter!

I bought another gift today, as well as a table cloth. Mostly just got the men to go!

So you didn't have just the men to go, tried to sneak that one in huh?

Decorated the shop for Christmas today, despite having to close for the next month.
Yeah...I feel sorry for the small independents - particularly since this is often the most profitable time of year for them. I hope your customers stay loyal.

One house in the village already got its lights up *sigh. Happy Bonfire Night by the way.

D'you know...all this wittering about Halloween and I'm going "but won't somebody think of poor Guy Fawkes?". You can't start Christmas until after BF Night...it's wrong. I think a house opposite has lights inside (can't tell nowadays) - I'm gonna leave them a stern note.

Priceless

A stern note is the least you can do
Can you imagine Trump's cavalcade of cars with a nodding head of Biden on the bonnet?

or a smiling nodding head of Boris Johnson on the Queens car?
