Christmas Preparations

It's beginning to look a lot like Christmas in the stores (or maybe I'm just finally noticing it, lol) but it makes it easier to find advent gifts for my nieces; I still need four, two for each girl. I also have to go get some wrapping paper and double-sided tape next week and then I'm gonna use some YouTube tutorials to make a fun wrapping that fits the holiday.

I love that wrapping, I don't have the patience to even try it!

I bought some new Christmas decorations yesterday, I really want to make the place Christmassy this year, I moved in just under a year ago and didn't really have time to get it decorated last year, but since I'm in lockdown, I can this year.

Just got a few more people to buy gifts for, but I'm getting there.

I know it's only the middle of September, but I work in a toy shop so we think of Christmas earlier!

Anyone started planning Christmas yet? Bought any gifts or food?

I started to get a few presents this month, got ideas for most people I need to buy for.
Well, Christmas Season starts on September here in the Philippines. We haven't bought any gifts yet.. Well, I really don't know if we can bought gifts with all this pandemic stuffs. We can't go out of our own houses that's why I'm not sure if we will have a chance to buy some gifts. Anyway, during Christmas eve, we (our family) usually have some bbq and pasta for the celebration.

I has my Christmas Baileys in, got a bargain yesterday, £12 for a litre ... nice.
Found the mince pies I like for this year... yes I had to taste test a few different brands! HAHA
Got 2 weeks to get my house organised so I can decorate.... with baileys in one hand and Christmas music playing 😀

I'm down to having 3 gifts left to get, 2 of those I know what I'm getting but they're food based so I'm waiting to closer to Christmas to get those, the other one I'm not sure what to get yet.

I've put up some decorations, but that's more as I've bought them and don't see the point in finding somewhere to store them for a few weeks, so they're out, but I'll put out the other ones in December.

Or to be nice to the person, get chocolates in a box!
So Boris is talking about the lockdown here and the measures of releasing it on the 2nd December today with the Christmas rules as well. So hoping to be able to know who I can see this year today so I can plan everything better. I doubt my present day with my brothers family will go ahead on the 19th so might have to rearrange to the 24th!! It's present day as they Jehovah so don't do Christmas but as I do it's called present day with no Christmas cards or wrapping paper. All wrapping paper is plain and simple stripes or stars so as not to confuse their boys on the day.

Who does this make you think of, the mince pies at this persons house have Baileys smeared on the pastry on top.

Christmas presents all bought and wrapped, to be hopefully posted to those I won't see, tomorrow.

Next up, food shopping, must not eat all the pringles again!

That's a worry, eating all the Pringles in the shop or admitting you used to eat all the Pringles in the shop, while you were in the shop?

I've got all eight of the nieces' advent gifts wrapped and packed in a bag, and I will give them to my sister tomorrow since the first advent is already this Sunday. I just feel so relieved to be over with it, since I initially thought I would have to wait to buy the other half until I got my next paycheck, but everything thankfully worked out.

Now, all I need, present-wise, is to buy some stuff for the nieces for Christmas. It will be the second year in a row that I only give them gifts and my family is very understanding about me not being able to afford anything more. This year my sister and brother-in-law will also only be giving presents from their girls, since they are both students now, with house payments and two girls to raise.

My next Christmas step won't be for another week and a half, when I start decorating 🙂

Went on a sweet little shopping expedition to the seaside yesterday .

Got most my spicy festive Eurocakes at Lidl . Had to do without the little ginger lebuchan biscuits ...and the 'Select' range of Stollens ...but got enough variety of other stuff to make do 🙂 .

Scored myself a couple of okay cigars at the tobacconists for Xmas/Boxing day . Let me buy singles rather than having to buy 2 full boxes ...which saved me a small fortune for a little Xmas treat . 🙂 The whole trip came in under budget and I got some really good food bits for the main meals . I found a big jar of asparagus tips that cheered me up all day 😀 .

The only thing I didn't buy is alcohol . Just not feeling the vibe for holiday booze just yet . Drank some Baileys last week and it wasn't going down smooth . May just get a bottle of whiskey and a bottle of port closer to the time ...or not bother and just eat cake 😛 .

Seriously puzzled here about Hunga Munga's post when it was said, 'went on a sweet little shopping expedition to the seaside yesterday'. How, when there are no shops at the seaside.

There might be shops inland from the beach.
@Nix, did Hunga Munga buy a bottle of Baileys at the seaside town off license shove a stick of rock in it and suck the Baileys through it, that might make it taste a bit rough.

It's December!!

Decorations are all up, advent calendar has been opened for today.

Just need to go food shopping, hoping to do that today before I go back to work tomorrow.

Writing up a storm, because of course, I decided, just one week ago, that I wanted to post 24 little one-shot Spuffy stories during this month. I have 6 written so far, yikes! I always overdo it and I always do so at the last second 😛
