Christmas Preparations

Elysian Fields - the site where I post my Spuffy fanfiction - is having a Secret Santa this year. Although, not really that secret, lol. We post a one-shot and dedicate it to the member whose name we've been given. Anyway, I'm finally gonna start mine. I'm a bit late, due to the story I've been busy writing throughout the month. I just hope I can finish in time to post it before Christmas Eve. Cross your fingers for me, guys! 😛

Shoulda gone North! The only option left to you is to change your name to "Cummings". Seriously - sorry Nix. It's messed mine up but not to the extent of yours. What's really annoyed me is, he knew this last week!

Yer totally messed up now we are in Tier 4. Sucks. No family at all this year 🙁 😭
Yer he could have warned me before I did the Christmas shopping... I mean a text or a call would have been nice!! 🤪
 
So far no plans have changed here, tier 1, but there's a turkey on standby, just in case!
 
@Nix - I'm well angry. He knew about the new strain in the SE before he made his mid-week statement: y'know, the "it would be inhumane to cancel Christmas" one. The scientists urged him not to be so lenient as to give a 5 day break. It's not the science that's changed - it's that the scientists have persuaded him to change his mind. He shouldn't have given folk expectations - though the one thing you can expect from him is a U-turn.
 
Gutted for you all 🙁 . I think my plans will change now . I'm not bothered for myself , I can love having friends and family anytime 🙂 . Might have to dogsit so my mate can travel local to see her family . Would be nice to enable someone else to have their xmas 🙂 .

To cheer myself up , I took a trial subscription with Starzplay on Amazon . Having a Veronica Mars retrospective this week 😎 . Nothing new is doing it for me ....and if I'm properly stuck indoors ... may as well enjoy it 🙂
 
It looks like those of you across the pond will be receiving your gifts after Christmas. ☹ I can't be the only person in America who's having problems with mail delivery. I'm seriously pissed off about it.

Edit: I've just now discovered that we can't send counterfeit currency to the UK! Well, @Nix there's goes your gift. 😛 But never fear, I shall scour the earth in search of something...appropriate. 😈

Tier 4 here but had already made the decision to stay home this year. Only surprise is that anyone is surprised. Put corrupt liars in charge and they'll lie and enrich themselves and their backers.

To answer your question, an Ice cream parlor in Cleveland that is know for putting the names of Birthday party honorees on it's marquee, does place "Happy Birthday Baby Jesus!" on December 25th. I would go with that.
 
Also, Christmas is a twelve day feast, and in some areas, can go as long as February 2nd. Although, those areas probably observe Pre-Lent, which means 2/1. But, you can always get together latter.

Speaking of holiday preparations, anyone be interested in watching some holiday movies later today (Sunday), or maybe Tue. or Wed.? I'm off and between covid and the weather, might be good just to stay in with a mug of cocoa and some seasonal films. ☕
 
Whats that, it's going to be Christmas soon? Well I'll be, the shops kept that quiet this year.

How to make Nix happy. Find that bottle of Egg Nog in the pantry, pour the contents down the plug hole,
now fill the bottle with Baileys.

What's that, holiday movies? We're All Going on a Summer Holiday? I'm going to listen to Gemstone Tuesday by The Rolling Stones

We still do the 12 days in my family. Christmas decorations don't come down until Epiphany. That's 12 days to relax, do nothing, and eat. I can't wait!

All sweets and bakes were made yesterday. All gifts that didn't get broken or delayed indefinitely are awaiting wrapping today. I also made a lot of gifts this year.

My dog has been so excited he's begun dismantling the Christmas tree stand. I'm just waiting for it to come crashing down on Christmas Eve.

Because I've been ill this year, I haven't been as hyperactive as usual, but I'm getting excited. Also, I'm kind of glad it will just my immediate family this year. I'm not nearly as tense!

Who does Christmas Eve and who does Christmas Day? Christmas Eve here, kicking off with Father Christmas coming through the front door. Then the party starts.
