Christopher Eccleston from such things as 28 days later, shallow grave and that fantastic 2 parter from last year called "The second coming" has been confirmed by the BBC as the next doctor who!

what are your thoughts on this Mr Pointy?

(Like anyone else here would know what i'm on about 😉 )

Excellent news - one of my favourite British actors. I thought he was brilliant in the stuff you've mentioned and also in "Our friends in the North" from a few years back. I think I would've preferred Bill Nighy as I'm not sure Christopher is old enough (I always thought that about Peter Davison) - but, hey, he's a bloody superb actor - he'll act it😉

yeah he's an excellent actor i was hoping for Nighy for the old guy look and more importantly cos i'm in the same film as him!

i know he's playing slartybartfast in the basterdised hitchhiker movie (the bad bad man) so that might have somthing to do with it.

Actually, with Bill Nighy and Martin Freeman ( Tim from The Office as Arthur - for those of you who aren't Faldor🙂) I don't think it'll be so bad - although I'm not sure that rap bloke Mos Def is who I'd pick for Ford - still, I go back to the radio version of Hitchiker's Guide, so I'm v biased.
Was Bill Nighy in Shaun of the Dead? Or did you have a part in Love Actually?🙂

Ford Prefect isnt black ::rm:: he's a white bloke from guilford (just like me) or so he claims (just like me) oh and he's not even a little bit american (just like me)

go back to the radio series its hitch hikers bliss ::dance::

Bill Nighy is indeed Shauns father in lor of the dead. but he wasnt in the shoots i was at. still would have been nice tho to say im in a film with the doctor tho!

Tom Baker had to say this on the subject of Mr Eccelson "I've never heard of him, i thought i was the only Doctor Who but then again i never watched it, even when i was in it"

ahhh nothing like a crazy man to pass the time 🙂

I guess the Hitchiker film will be made with Hollywood cash - hence the Hollywood casting *Sigh*

Tom Baker isn't crazy - just heavily eccentric :: wacko : :: wacko2
I swear that I've seen interviews with him, when he was playing the Doctor, where it seemed he actually believed he was a Time Lord...made yer method actors look like lightweights

Christopher Eccleston is my favourite actor. I am more obsessed with him than I am with Buffy, and thatsb a big obsession in itself. I saw him in 'Our friends in the North' and after that, I had to see everything he was in... I can't wait to see him! I'm glad he has other appreciaters 🙂
