What type if cinema is your favourite and why?


Personally over here we have the Everyman cinemas. Its a small chain/franchise (I think). They serve food & drink to your seats and take your orders from there too. They have sofas and armchairs and a friendly welcoming person just before the movie that stands up reminding you of mobile phones & where the loo's are etc! Its small but spacious and I love it!

Pathe is the biggest movie/cinema theatre here, long time that i saw a movie at the cinema the last was the Green Hornet watched it with my brother, very campy and 3d(headache after it)

That's very cool! I have visited a dinner theater like that in Austin, called the Alamao, where we could order food and drinks. And back where I used to live in Washington, they have smaller, cozy theaters like that, through the McMenamins franchise...but where I live now, in Oklahoma, we only have a few theaters left. There's a bigger Cinemark with an IMAX that plays Hollywood movies, which is art deco, and has an arcade and bar. I love to go to it, but I don't go as often as I used to because it's far away from my home. I used to be in the movie club and see a movie every week, but that along with other things I've had to cancel because I can't afford them anymore.

We also have a small, art house theater that only shows independent films which is much closer to my house. It's not as comfortable as the other theater, but you know you'll always see a good film there, and I like that I'm supporting a small non profit when I patronize. It's also on historic Route 66, and a bit of a tourist attraction because it's where the film The Outsiders was filmed.

Fancy!

I used to go to Cineworld, who had an unlimited pass which would allow you to watch as much as you wanted. But the 20 minute drive wounded costing so much thanks to fuel increases that you weren't really saving anything, and going anywhere else usually means paying for parking, so I no longer go.

Yeah it's a fancy one, don't go very often due to it being in another town and I don't drive and it is more expensive than others. But, it's a lovely treat for a really good movie!

The only cinema is 100kms from me, but I like it! Its a nice place. Good prices and concession rates so that I can usually get a choc top icecream as well. They have a fancy section called Bogarts which does food and alcohol delivery direct to the larger arm chair style seating, but it costs extra to sit in that area so I haven't done it yet. I would like to try it. The main seating is rarely very full anyway. I am actually surprised the place can run for as cheaply as it does when its so empty most of the time! I wish I knew the Michael movie was playing there cos I definitely would have gone a few times, but I seem to miss most movie adverts now days! Doesnt seem as much variety playing anymore either, there have been some times I have felt like going to the cinema and there has been nothing showing that I wanted to see.

I like mixing it up - the 'fancy' ones where you can get food brought to you, more smaller independent cinema chains and then your regular cinema. Honestly, it depends on the movie and the cost. I splurged for the fancy cinema to watch The Odyssey, and more of a 'standard' cinema for the latest Spider-Man film.

I'm pretty sure I would fall a sleep if I tried to watch a movie in a cinema with those comfortable looking seats.

Don't think I've ever been to a cinema where my legs actually fits and I could sit comfortable.
We actually do have some new ones here in my home town. But I haven't been to the movies in ages so I haven't tried them yet.
