Anyone here a fan of them? My favorite is The Big Lebowski, and I can recite much of it by heart. I also love True Grit and O Brother, Where Art Thou?.

I love The Big Lebowski. It's one of my all-time favorite movies. I also like No Country for Old Men, Burn After Reading and Miller's Crossing.
No Country for Old Men is one of the most suspenseful movies I have ever seen and I just love the movie's atmosphere. The ending left a weird after taste, though. Not that it's bad, really, it's just unusual.
I have also watched Blood Simple. It was pretty good, but not as good as the other Coen Brothers films I've seen.

Currently, one of my favorite movies is Safety Not Guaranteed. It's a small independent movie directed by Colin Trevorrow, starring Aubrey Plaza (Parks & Rec), Mark Duplass (The League) and Jake Johnson (New Girl). Trevorrow is going to direct the new Jurassic Park movie. I think that's what got me interested in SNG, but I love it anyway. Has anybody seen it?? I'd love to hear (or more like read) your opinion!

Honestly, never been much of a Coen Brothers fan. I mean, I love No Country For Old Man and I'm so glad it won the Oscar over There Will Be Blood, but I dunno, I've never shared the enthusiastic response that so many people had to their films. Not that they are bad directors, I mean, they can write and direct, but they are... just not for me? if that makes sense, lol.

Anyway, my favourite films are: Nolan's Batman Trilogy, Idi I Smotri (Come and See), Breaking The Waves, American History X, Aliens, The Sweet Hereafter, Kill Bill, Watchmen, A Perfect World, Memento, The Matrix, The Shawshank Redemption, Moulin Rouge, Million Dollar Baby, Edward Scissorhands, etc.

I thought There Will Be Blood was awesome 😛
But anyway, yeah, you're right. Coen Brothers movies are really not for everybody. I think Burn After Reading is absolutely hilarious, but many people probably hate it. In this movie, nobody knows what's going on and it's basically just some random stuff happening to people that are somehow connected with each other.

Oh, and [MENTION=12533]OFAWB[/MENTION], this isn't a guy who built the railroads here.

I got very into The Coens after seeing The Hudsucker Proxy on Channel 4 UK, I even enjoyed stuff like The Ladykillers that almost everybody hated.

Burn After Reading, No Country & A Serious Man all ended so suddenly they left me a bit flustered. I should be getting used to it, but can you get used to something like that? (It's the same with Blue Orchid by The White Stripes but at least that's just a song).

Burn After Reading ended so abruptly that the cinema turned the lights back on before the last scene had ended when I saw it which only added to my confusion.

I've watched Miller's Crossing several times and I'm still not fully certain of the plot - but it's got some of the most amazing scenes in it. Best gangster film I've seen (though that's not saying much coming from me)
