Does anyone watch this show? It is incredible, I have never seen such a depressing show, It seriously shakes me up every time I watch it, I don't watch it every week, just every now and then, but wow, It really does know how to push the 'sad buttons' especially when it does storylines about children!
I was watching an ep tonight, called Fly Away, it was about a mother, who had been sexually abused as a child by her father, When she was 17 she got pregnant(Not by her father, by someone else) and she had a daughter, The mother is really poor so social services help her out helping her get by, she has a social worker who makes sure she has food and stuff, anyway one day she sees the social worker making advances towards the child, so she threatens him, he responds by telling her he will take her child away, he says he will come back later to collect the child, it was an empty threat he was never going to, but later on a friend of the daughters brings a pizza over for the girl and the mother thinks it is the social worker, and the only way she can think of to protect her child is to jump out the window with her, so she does and she plummets to the ground the daughter is killed instantly and the mother goes into a coma for two years and when she wakes up she has forgotten the incident.
It was absolutely horrible it was so sad, Anyone that knows Cold Case knows that it starts with the murder that happened year ago, showing us part of it, in this case the girl and the mother falling from the window after someone comes into her apartment then they solve the case bit by bit.
The music in that show is so amazing it is always used perfect to shift your emotions, at the end of the ep the investigator tells the whole story of what happened to the mother and we get to see it, the way the mother was with her daughter was so loving just before they jumped, she was making her sing a butterfly song (the daughter loves Butterflies).
All of this combined to make such a moving last 15 minuets I actually cried! And I have never cried because of a T.V. Program, it was absolutely amazing. Anyone who has never seen it should check it out it is a truly brilliant show!

i'm not a big fan of the show... i don't think its that good 😉 and i really dislike the main character, i don't like her personality at all, but you are right though, its pretty depressing, the colors they shoot with(the color of the characters, clothes, scenery) and they do know how to put the sadness into motion. still though not quit my thing if ya know what i mean 😉

I really like the show but I have to agree with polexia, the main character gets on my nerves alot. The eps that I find most affecting are the ones about cold cases from the 80s and 90s. Their choices of music and everything really gets me nostalgic and adds to the emotion.

Then you have The First showing up in every episode... :winky:
