College Majors

I'm not in college or anything, but I'm in school still, studying physical acting, very Grotowski inspired (if anyone knows who that is, I sure didn't two years ago).
 
Im in University (UK) and am doing Major in Media and Cultural Studies with a minor in Film Studies.

Am planning to do a semester abroad next year (well September) at Worcester State College, Massachuttes (spelling? I always forget) with the modules being Communications-focused as its the same kinda thing. So if anyone goes to/went to the college let me know what its like 😉

Human resource management for my business major, sociology for my arts major.

When I get the experience critieria under my belt, I'll go back and have a crack at organisational psychology.
 
I have a Bachelor of Science Degree in Biology, specifically genetics and cell biology. During my time in university, I accumulated enough English credits to be able to teach high school English if I ever attend teachers' college. I have a diploma in computer programming (from a "community college"...what in America is the equivalent of a 3-year college), but the only thing that applies now is the basic logic structure of programming...the languages I know are the computer equivalent of Attic Greek...I am a certified electrician, and I've completed 300 hours of trades-specific schooling as well as 9000 hours of on-the-job training. Some day I might know what I want to be when I grow up...😉
 
Got a Bachelor's in Fine Art. Then a little Associate's degree in Design. Felt like I was in school way too long. But it's fun. I love school...

I loved college, didn't care much for primary education, tho.
i didn't go to Uni, yet, but i went to a technical college and i have three A-levels in Art and Design, Photography and Critical Studies, which is art history basically. and i have a BTec foundation diploma in art and design.
i'd really love to go back to college and study art history full time. it would be very interesting for me.
 
I think its just what kinda qualification you get at the end. Either a Diploma, certificate, degree, masters etc.

Tech school gives you an in-depth, hands-on practical education. You concentrate on building the skills you'll need to perform whatever job you're studying for in the real world. Community college also gives you practical experience, but you also get an education in basic college subjects, like English, Math, Sciences, etc. Also, you get an Associate's degree in Community college, whereas at a 4-year University, you get a Bachelor's degree. Universities and Colleges with 4-year programs generally concentrate on a theoretical education. You'll get some hands-on experience, but not as much as you would at a tech school. It's a more academic setting than you would find at a tech school or community college.

LOL! I'm so telling her you said that....altho, I think it's kinda cute that she can speak and read Russian. I keep telling her she should be an international spy.

So if I don't want to go through all the basic classes crap, I should go to a tech school?
