Here's something I don't understand. There's all this stuff that everyone complains about, but nobody seems to be to doing it. That doesn't make sense. Somewhere someone is making this stuff popular.

Here's you're chance to purge your sins, by admitting to your folly.
 
Y'know, I can honestly and with my hand on my heart say that I never do any of those things listed. Of course, being from the UK helped me with the not voting for Bush. That and having a brain.

The nearest to any of them is that I do watch several of the popular reality shows. The truth is that I don't see reality television as a bad thing, as long as it is balanced with an equal amount of drama, sport, news and so on. Everything is cool in moderation.

The celeb dancing shows are a no-no for me simply because they bore me senseless but I do watch American Idol and X Factor and I've been a Big Brother addict since the first series. Guess I'd better go back and tick the "other" box. 😀

Me neither. (Obviously didn't vote for Bush, but I also didn't vote for anything right wing in Sweden.)

Edit: I could see myself watching a celebrity dancing thing once in a while if I had a TV though.. But I don't, so..
 
Guilty here.

I watch infomercials. My husband and I even bought the Magic Bullet.
I'm a Republican, so I voted for President Bush.
I love gossip magazines. I could be seen buying one every week or so at the grocery store when we go to get groceries.

Um, well, I watched the first 2 seasons of "Dancing with the Stars". I'm a Kelly Monaco fan, so I had to, ya know, watch for support and stuff....

And some people consider being a fan of wrestling equally shameful, even though I don't. I can't help it though, I watch it all the time and not just for the sweaty men, but because I actually like it.

I'm also a Chicago Cubs fan, which sometimes, can be shameful...

Oh, yeah and I bought a car seat that transforms into a stroller from HSN.
 
I watch infomercials when I need to think. Granted, its more of being too lazy to search for anything else (I dont actually choose infomercials...but i have watched my fair share) but if they're on, they're on...

I LOVE reading "gossip magazines". I always find it interesting to see the stories they have, with celebrities denying this and that and then wait to see over the next few months which stories actually turn out to be true.

As far as pop music goes...my music taste is truly all over the board (but my favorite of course is hardcore/alternative) so I've been known to occasionally purchase a nelly furtado album here or there.

I read celebrity gossip blogs. It's not that I actually give a damn about any of those people, but it's an amusing read when I have some time to kill.

Also? ONTD is HILARIOUS if you can deal with the stupid factor, which is admittedly pretty large.

I don't actually buy pop music, but I listen to a little bit. I've got some old-school Savage Garden and Ray of Light-era Madonna on my iPod, but other than that the only pop I can actually admit to listening to is the old Backstreet Boys and Spice Girls videos on YouTube when I'm feeling nostalgic, which doesn't happen often. So.
 
I read gossip mags....for some reason every time I stop for fuel when I'm driving home from my parent's house, I buy a gossip mag.

I don't so much "buy" pop music but occasionally download it when it's been in my head for long enough. And I seem to be a fan of Justin Timberlake...::huh1::

I've watched the dancing...or I used to until they put re-runs of the Simpsons on a different channel. My guilty habit is Big Brother. I don't really like it, I don't want to watch it....but I'm compelled...plus a couple of years ago I joined their forum for the soul purpose of limericks and I have to keep up to date.

Me? I used to read gossip magazines. But not anymore. I'm on the reality show wave right now. Big/Vip Brothers and Sisters, Survivor, Music Idol, Star Academy...*sighs* They became pretty popular in Bulgaria the last three years.
 
Then there's telephone surveys. People have to stop agreeing to do those, or else they'll keep calling. It pisses me off the way some of them almost tell you you're required to do the survey. I'm sure there's a lot of people who have been sucked in by that.

I know there's a lot of people who don't come clean about pressing the number at the end of an automated telephone messages. Even me, who is damn near an activist about this kind of stuff has been tempted to press the number. You know the ones I mean, right? A voice tells you've won, been selected for, or may be eligible for a trip, pre-approved credit card, years supply of something or other. Or else this authoritarian voice demands you press the number at the end of message on an urgent governmental, or legal matter, and if you were to click you'd find out it's a debt collector. Or the voice tells you they represent your credit card company, and if you press 1 they want you to enter your credit card number. Or a security company blankets the area telling you your home security is at risk, and unless you respond your house will surely be broken into. Come on admit it. Someone has pressed 1 at the end of one of those messages.

Never done it. Anytime I get an automated phone call, I hang up. I've actually had a company that called like 15 times in a row one day and I hung up everytime. OMG! As I was typing, I got one of these calls!
I hate those calls! I feel like they could at least give a person a crappy job, you know? Whenever I get an automated call, I hang up.
 
I'll admit, I had to mark down three of the above lol.

I LOVE infomercials, actually. Don't ask why, they are my favourite kind of commercials to watch! NEVER once bought anything from them, I think they may lose some of their entertainment value if I did 🙁 Either way though, I :heart 'em!

I also had to say I buy pop music, because I really, REALLY do (another thing I actually like 😉).

And as for my thing that's equally shameful... I own three Britney Spears cds... many of the songs I know every word to *cringes*. And to make it worse I can't get "Stars are Blind" by Paris Hilton out of my head!!!

There we go, I feel purged 🙂
 
i don't BUY pop music, but i do listen to it when the mood hits. ok, that's a lie. i bought the new Take That album. so, yeah, i buy pop music, apparently.

like Evilyn said, some people find watching WWE/Wrestling to be worthy of being in this kinda poll, but i love it. yes, i'll admit that the reason i started watching was for the half naked men, but now, almost ten years later, i love it for the storylines and the actual wrestling...as well as the half naked men. lmao

I actually used to do that for a living. It was for the college I'm at though, so it was legitamate surveys that were for research purposes and the like. And I never really tried to pressure people into them, if they didn't want to do it I wouldn't try to force them to...Still sad I know.

I love the gossip magazines!

How many people would you say you had to call before someone agreed to do the survey?
 
it depends on the survey. one we did about alcohol use in college students and the school's alcohol policy was really easy to get students to answer. others were alot harder and you would only get like 2 people to participate the entire day (so averaging like one every couple hours). Most of the time people just didn't answer....I ended up spending most my time brushing up on my freecell skills and crocheting.
 
I don't do anything from that list. This isn't directed at anyone, it is just something that bugs me.

Hello? Might there be a connection... Regardless of whether you buy the magazines for her, you are endorsing the idea that we, the general public, want to know about any of these talentless fame whores. Is your life that dull?

So wow, a person can act, making a great movie involves a hell of a lot more work than just one person. Appreciate the art and the hard work hundreds of people put into it, don't fixate on the one lucky person who gets to be centre stage.
