Buffy 8 is popular. Popular comics are often made into movies. Could you see the Buffy 8 concept of Slayer army working as a movie? Would you need the TV cast? Could you see someone other than SMG as comic Buffy?

I ticked Hell yeah, but I meant to tick the last one. I think it would work as a movie, but not with the exact storyline their useing in the comic.

Not sure about the cast, I would have to see it before decideing if it would work.

Or how about this? Say they were to announce plans to do a movie based on the comics. Later they announced it would be an all new cast (yes I'm aware of Joss's comments on the subject of alternate casting, but so what, this is hypothetical). OK so after that there's an announcement one member of the original cast will be returning. Who are you hoping for? Eliza Dushku for me.

I think maybe, they'd probably have to do some tweaking, but either way i think it would be awesome. I would prefer it with the original cast because i dont think it would be the same thing we love with a new cast.

But if it was a new cast and only one returning original, i would want Alyson Hannigan, cause willows my favorite or Eliza Dushku

I can't help it. To me, the cast of Buffy makes BUFFY what it is. It's just my opinion. So I would need to have them. But that doesn't mean Joss will do what I want. So I choose Buffy to be the one to come back. Because she is my favorite.

I picked 'Hell Yeah' though I think Season 8 Comic should be made into Season 8 of BTVS.

Why choose which actors will come back? With the state of computer technology today, and the massive advances made every day, an illustrated movie could be made with such detail as to be nearly the same as live action. Look at Lord of the Rings, Sky Captain, and 300. The only thing required from the original actors would be for dialog, and there are people in the entertainment field who specialize in voice imitation. You want more Buffy on the big screen? You want special effects and locations limited only by the imaginations of the writers and director? No sweat, just go with animation.

I'm a diehard fanboy. I don't think I could warm up to a new cast. And animation.. expensive.. the budget would be huge. The cast is getting way too old now =\

What? Nobody thinks the comic is a slightly different animal from the TV series, and can be dealt with differently? What about in five years? (Assuming it's still around...which I'm pulling for. It does keep getting extended. Joss is talking Season 9 now.)

i think, where the story is headed at the moment, it would be too big for a movie. can you imagine trying to squeeze everything in to just 2/3 hours? it would need some major tweaking by Joss and Co. but i think it's a very slight possibility.

as for the cast, if they decided that they had to recast everybody, i wouldn't be happy, but i would understand, hey, they're not getting any younger, it's hard for someone to play a guy who never gets any older when he, while still ruggedly handsome, is no spring chicken.

if i had to choose of the originals who i wanted to return, i'd have to go for Nicholas Bredon. Xander was one of the main reasons i started watching this show, and over the last few weeks, i've started to remember why. no one could replace Xander Harris for me. just not possible.

I'm with Lyri, except for with the Nicholas Brendon thing.

I don't think I'd want a movie, like at all. Sure if they did make a movie I'd be happy, but right now I prefer a comic. And if they made a movie I'd rather it was something completely different..

I picked Hell yeah, but only with the original cast. I cant see Buffy being Buffy without SMG. Or any of the others for that matter.

With mayor tweaks and even then... I'm not a 100% sure.

I love the cast of B/A to death and it's impossible to really imagine what it would be with other actors filling their roles... but I'm sure that if Joss tried it, he would succeed and everyone who is saying right now they wouldn't like it, would prolly be curious enough to go see it in cinema's anyway and then instantly fall in love with it.

I think it could work.
I know SMG has said 'never say never'.. but I can't see her saying yes unless the script and pay packet maybe are astronomical. I see a spin-off being more realistic.. I'd be so happy with that (I need a weekly Buffyverse fix rather then 1 movie 😉... Serenity proved that for me).

Yeah I agree that I couldn't see Season Eight as a movie because like someone said above with the way things seem to be going it would be hard to wrap up the movie in 2 to 3 hours and still not really feel left out. Also there are WAY too many characters and stuff now to just include a movie. I mean look at the problem they had with X-Men where some characters didn't get developed enough like on the first two they mostly focused on Wolverine and then part III it was all Wolverine and Storm. Also I couldn't see anybody else playing these characters cause the actors took the characters and made them their own, even when I look at Kristy Swanson as Buffy I'm like "I don't like it," and she was the original. So if I see somebody else playing any of the other character it won't seem as fun to me, especially if someone else is playing Willow, cause I saw that girl play Willow in the unaired pilot and she was AWFUL. I couldn't imagine her going evil.

Also if Joss is talking Season 9 then hell Buffy is going to continue for the next 10 years, cause again he said for Season Eight he's up to like 50 issues for this season alone. And if you do the math that's like 4 1/2 years or perhaps a little longer cause they do take month hiatus' from time to time. And who knows how long they'll break during X-Mas

Cinema? Why would you want him to compress it into two or three hours? The whole point of Buffy was the rich story that carried on over 22 episodes (with a few exceptions for fishmen and the like). So, turning that into three hours of film that satisfies nobody seems like a gargantuan waste of time. And besides, why not just keep it to the comics? With nothing to stop him but his imagination, the comics should be time for Joss to finally make his most outlandish ideas part of the series. I wouldn't want a movie of Buffy. I'd go, but I can tell that it wouldn't live up to being part of the Buffyverse.

As for a season 8, Sarah has, in my opinion, been relatively blunt in making people know that she wants to move to new directions, and that's fine. Why place any guilt on her for not wanting to do Season 8 on TV? Although, I think it would be a good way to bring some of the cast out of mediocrity or not being known at all, but there's no way Buffy could work without Sarah. And her decision should be respected, and I'm almost certain that she wouldn't go in for either.

If the Comic is canon then it couldn't work as a movie, could it?

It would be like any televised season being compressed to a single 2 hour movie.

If, then, a film was made, which would be the one to take place in Canon?

I don't think that this comic has any place in the world of movie.
If you want to do a movie, by all means, but don't use this comic as the basis, start a new story set after that.

I was thinking something more like the last X men movie where they grabbed Joss's mutant virus story from Astonishing X men. Would the slayer army story work as a movie?

When I say tweaks I was thinking stuff like editing characters out.
